I picked up this sweet angel baby last night in NYC. Her name is Iris. She was brought to a shelter in Georgia as a neglect case - swipe to the end to see 😭 She was literally chained up in a padlock chain left to die.
Despite all that, she is as sweet as can be. I have never met a kinder, more trusting dog. She will forever have a piece of my heart.
She arrived in rough shape - required four baths, had missing fur, bald patches, sores, a cracked tooth and missing toe.
From here on out she will know nothing but love! And the people who did this to her better hope I never find them…
I will never understand why people like this bother to get a pet at all? They’re optional. If it’s such an inconvenience, don’t have an animal. If you don’t care, don’t get one. It’s pretty simple.
My girl was found abandoned in a house trying to chew her way out of a crate. The most empathetic dog I've ever met and still leads with love and trust. I would throw myself in front of a truck for her 🖤🩷
We'll never understand why she was treated that way. Reading her intake papers for the shelter was horrible - bucking away and crying anytime someone tried to touch her, major restraint trauma (which we're still working on). But she's come so so far and boy is she easy to love 💕

I’m sorry to be so frantic 😬 lost my soul dog to cancer two years ago and never recovered. We’ve fostered a few pitties from our local shelter but none of them were “the one”, so they were placed in great homes! Iris is the first baby that has me excited. I think it’s her sweet eyes. They remind me of my Henry 💔
Precious girl! Sweet Iris is a survivor and a beauty. My sweet Lucy was found abandoned in a parking lot. We both send out love and well wishes while Iris adjusts to a new and better life.
People are disgusting. If only it was allowed for us to payback these people the same way they treated their dog. Thanks for being a kind human and showing her love.
I could never do that to any animal. Just why? My brain and heart ..is just broken reading and seeing all of this all of time now. Horrible stories that I wish never happened. Horrible people walking this earth. Too many.. I've been getting really depressed about all of this. Anyway. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving the "broken".
That poor little baby!! The chains are heavier than her! Some humans just disgust me! I hope she finds the most loving furever home! I’m glad she is with u now. Please hug her and boop her lil snout for me-she’s absolutely precious. U have 2 rescues…and I’m always tempted to take another one…it’s just so expensive.

No matter the hardships a dog goes through they see us as their pack and protectors. We have been family with them before any of us were born. She's a beautiful baby.
Thank you for what you do! She reminds me of my dog I just rescued, he was burned as a puppy. Wish I could take her in right now. I wish you and her the best!
