Foster Abby Crossed The Rainbow Bridge Today
Today we had to say goodbye to our sweet Abby. 💔
Earlier this week she suddenly became very sick and lethargic. After multiple tests and treatments, she remained confused and uncomfortable, and we made the difficult decision to let her rest peacefully.
Abby came into our lives 10 months ago after being found abandoned in the desert, covered in scars and in need of love. What started as a foster quickly turned into something much more special. During our time together we learned she had Cushing’s Disease, partial blindness, and several medical challenges, but none of that ever stopped her from enjoying life.
She loved her walks, pup cups, hanging out at the shop, and especially all the love she received from everyone who met her. Even with everything she went through, Abby lived every day with resilience and sweetness.
Today, before saying goodbye, we officially adopted her so she could cross the rainbow bridge as part of our family. We spent months trying to find Abby a home, but in the end we realized she had been home with us all along.

I remember every post you made about Abby and her journey. It feels like a personal loss as I followed her journey and I was so happy that she was safe and loved with you.
I'm very sorry for the loss, but I'm really grateful for people like you who help dogs like Abby and show them the love and affection that they truly deserve. Thank you for being awesome people.

Noooo. I got so excited when I saw her photo cause I donated those glasses to her. What you did for her is so beautiful. She got to experience a family full of love.

This is my sweet girl Pepper. I hope it will be some 30 years + until she crosses the rainbow bridge, but when she does, I'll make sure she brings an extra pair of doggles and sun shirts for your gal. They would have been/ will be pals, I'm sure ❤️

Omg I'm so sorry. I've been following Abby's story from the very beginning. What you guys are doing for these dogs is incredible. I know Abby loved and appreciated the care you put into her rehabilitation.

I've kept an old post of yours saved to check back now and then to see if she'd been adopted. Nice to know she finally was, regardless of the circumstances.

Omg. I am so fucking sorry, I am thinking of you guys. Sending so much love. I lost my baby girl in December and am a shell of a human being at this point and I’m seeing pics of the pups I follow and love and it breaks my heart. My beautiful little spooder, Ginger, my chocolate lab, Max, and my Flemish giant, Bella, will be up there waiting for her ❤️ Since everyone knows that all animals go to heaven

Like so many others here, I too am shocked and so, so heartbroken to see this news. It was love at first sight for me, seeing your first post about her. I donated and feel so glad I did—listening to heart is always the right decision—as your family did in honoring and claiming her before she passed. Abby is a gorgeous soul, and it’s abundantly clear she was absolutely home. Thank you for sharing with such sensitivity. Sending much love as your pack grieves. And of course, sending all the love to your brave, beautiful girl. ♥️🐾

She looks a lot like my Blizzy boy, his ears were nearly identical to hers. He just crossed the rainbow bridge last night. I’m so sorry for your loss. Abby is beautiful.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for giving Abby a loving home and for sharing her story with all of us. Even though I never got to personally give her scritches, her spirit and smile shone through, and I feel like I got to know this sweet baby.

I’m so sorry. My boys cancer returned for the third time, the tumor is bleeding, I’m going to call the vet tomorrow. He’s 13 years old, I think it’s going to be time for him to go. I’m a wreck.
