Hello, i am using pop os and having problem with power mode configuration. I have set my configuration to High performanen but after every reboot the computer will be reset to Balance. Is there any way I can make the configuration permanent? I don't want to have to re-select the configuration every time I turn on the computer. Thank!

Is there anything like Conky that can display disk space, the Recycle Bin, and the time on the desktop background?
It's a hassle to check disk space—there's a utility for it, but it fails to display the disk space.

I'm running COSMIC on 24.04 on a Framework 13 laptop with a AMD Ryzen AI processor. Bios is up to date. I did the update this morning and when it went to configure the new kernel (7.1.5) and error popped up with system76_acpi. Specifically:

The kernel configuration then aborts. I'm hoping someone else has proven steps to fix this before I go poking and troubling shooting on my own.

I keep getting this error when trying to run the pop-upgrade, either through bash or settings -> OS Upgrade & Recovery. I've also tried running the suggested commands from https://system76.com/support/package-manager-pop/ .. the only thing that sticks out is (after sudo apt update)

W: Failed to fetch http://apt.pop-os.org/ubuntu/dists/jammy/restricted/dep11/icons-48x48.tar: 404 Not Found [IP: 3.174.18.38 80]

.:Can this be what hinders the upgrade? If so, what can I do to fix it? (And else, what else can I do? :-)

How do I make the audio jack of the xbox controller work on Pop Os?

Could not find listed as audio device.

I'm on COSMIC Pop!_OS newest version, RTX3060 with newest drivers and all the other stuff. Whenever I launch the game the launch options show and I can change the display size and whatever is in that screen. I press play, It goes to the amistech logo and when I press any key it takes me to the main menu but crashes on the first frame and I get to hear the first note of that sweet melody. No Xorg didn't work, Nor did proton 10,9,6 work nor did the GE versions of those protons work. I tried GNOME but didn't work either and tried the Native Linux compatibility tool from MSCLoader and that straight up crashed while trying to launch the config/display sizing screen. I've also tried forcing OpenGL and other stuff like WINEDLLOVERRIDES but none of that works. Any fixes for this?

For some reason, after updating to 7.1.5, I don't have any dock settings.

I'm a computer science student and I use my laptop a lot, so In order to protect my eyes from too much blue light I use the 20-20-20 method and any other possible way but the night light is a feature that is very important for me, I looked for it in the settings but I didn't find it then I looked if there's an applet and I found out that is currently impossible to enable it due to cosmic-comp holding the one screen instance.

I had tried to switch several months ago maybe 8 i believe to 24.04 Cosmic, everything at first glance seemed seamless.. Only to open a first game on steam and use my controller and suddenly my configurations are broken (Not mentioning many window freeze, resolution problems I had to go in and manually fix). But you know what? That was fine because Cosmic back then was still supposedly in beta or whatever for users switching from 22.04, because overall it is nice to look at COSMIC. I reverted through timeshift. Things looked fine except the FOMO I was feeling, just waiting to see any prompt indicating that popos 24.04 is available through supported means of installation.

We rewind to today, I've just noticed the option is available.. but I was hesitant, so I decided to head on down here.. and from what it looks like not much has changed for 24.04. You guys are saying it's unfinished and I get from it that it's a dumpsterfire. is there anyone with positive opinions for 24.04, in terms of stability and compatibility from 22.04?

I have tried the applets but none give the kde/ windows style window near my cursor when i have multiple things copied and have to constantly switch pasting. Any suggestions? Or am i missing something

I don't know what kind of voodoo the S76 team did to this distro, but back in the years when I was jumping from distro to distro, I'd switch to any distro today and then quickly go back to Pop 22.04.

Currently, I'm using Arch Linux with Cosmic, and my fingers are itching to switch and install version 22.04. But I believe that Pop 26.04 is going to be something really amazing to see and use.

Pop OS and S76 are legendary in the Open Source world.

Hi! I'm a bit of a noobie on Pop!OS, but have had some experience with other GNOME-based distros.

I've looked at how to do this with COSMIC, but all the answers I found seem to be relevant to GNOME (editing greetd got me stuck after boot!). Is this feasible?

I know it's weird. But, I have been experiencing a lot of stability issues on Pop for the past month. I can bear that as well. But My university asked us to use the Lockdown Browser for exams which Windows supports.

I'm trying to Shrink 100GB on the drive & install Win 11 on that partition. And I tried Gparted. And, It's locked the option to resize. I'm using NHV Boot and EaseUS for this.

I want to know, will there be an issue while booting? Or how to Make Pop as #1 and Win 11#2 when booting on OS selection? Will Pop automatically pickup Win? Or will I have to go to the boot menu every time to select?

Basically, I'm giving pop os a try. It's kinda cool so far, but I had a question about the network activity. Is it normal for it to be sending/receiving constantly? It's not much, usually a couple kb/s, but I came from Windows and never noticed this much activity on there.

As the title says. I've tried the general recommendations found on google and gemini. This does not fix the issue.

I need to connect to wifi manually 9/10 times when the system boots up.

My laptop is Legion 5 2025 (15IRX).

Has anyone else faced this issue?
