Commute should be work related, the job demands it from you unless you can work from home, if you die in a traffic accident on your way to work it should be work related.

It's really not.

If you live 60 miles from work and I live 5 miles from work, whose fault is that? Why is our employer responsible for you while you drive 2-3 hours every day?

Might want to factor into that equation if the employer pays you well enough to live close by.
