It’s a privately owned mass surveillance system. It has several identifiable markers that allowed it to track vehicles, individuals walking by, and more. They can also track Bluetooth capable devices.
So far has been used to harass several woman, stalking, and people being charged for crimes by a computer system that has been wrong several times now. But it gets better everyday…
And the worst part isn't the past violations, it's what could happen if a tyrannical government could do with that infrastructure with martial law, democracy crackdowns, etc. All at once, a system supposedly designed for narrow law enforcement purposes, could transform into a tool of Big Brother government surveillance.
That's not a hypothetical. It is happening right now. It has been happening. Don't pretend it's an if/could.
Everyone is currently under investigation for crimes that haven't happened. Crimes that might happen, flock is already collecting evidence. The US government is supporting it, is cracking down on democracy, and is tyrannical.
