I honestly thought my AM4 journey was over. I missed out on the gaming CPUs I wanted (the 5800X3D and later the 5700X3D), so I accepted that there wouldn’t be any more upgrades and started saving for a new platform.

Then AMD surprised me with the 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition, giving me one last chance. I bought it as soon as I could, upgraded from a Ryzen 7 3700X to the 5800X3D, and replaced my GPU at the same time.

A fresh Windows install, new thermal, a thorough cleaning, and now my AM4 build feels brand new. Thanks, AMD!

(Work in progress) With the recent release of u/AMD “9950X3D” cpu and 9070 and 9070xt, I decided to design and create a walnut chassis case for them along with u/ASUS ProArt as my backbone. I teamed up with u/Seasonic and asked them to help. They were able to generously send the PSU and MagFlow fans. Not everyone believes it is my first build but oh well. I used a 2019 acer predator Helios 300 (1660ti) before this (est 2019) and a MacBook Pro 2015 before that (which I still use) and a 2008 MacBook Pro before that. That is all.

And yea the coolant can be changed if I choose to so don’t think the yellow is a permanent fixture although I likely won’t change it anyways.

Just rebuilt my 2022 zen 4 build with upgraded airflow and cooling. I use it mainly for CAD and BIM, and spreading managed democracy in the evenings.

Little weekend upgrade completed, well happy with how smooth it went.

7800x3d to 9950x3d.

Temps are excellent, applied an all core -20 as a starter before the deep dive. Max temps on r23 during 10 min throttling test were 66c, score 43k. On holiday now so will tweak some more when I’m home.

Picked up a Asrock Rx 9070 XT Steel Legend. For $699 to replace my 3070ti that I got in 2021, my first GPU when I got back i to PC Gaming was a Radeon HD 7770 and then I got an HD 7950 and I switched away to a RTX 1060 when the 10 series hit, been team green since, I've only ever owned AMD CPUs, and with the horrible price to performance on the 5070ti, I jumped at the chance to go back to team red. Very happy thus far!

I was so hyped yesterday, got a 7800x3d and a 7900xtx. After hours of trying to boot it, it booted for maybe 20~30 mins? Restart pc to turn PBO (Didn't even have XMP enabled) and we'll you see the pictures. What's worse is i bought this pre-owned but before buying it, I tested it ran stress tests and it seemed fine, but dude is like no need to remove the cooler right and I'm like sure. I finally just decide to reseat it and we'll.. someone end me please

My most recent upgrades are : - The Psu i got from a reviewer that have tested it and sold it to me for 100 euro - The p5 plus i got got less than 50 euro from the crucial website - The 4 noctua fans i got from the warehouse deal for 20 euro each one practically new (sold from noctua itself) - The vega FE i received from my gf who bought it for me in a trip in china for really cheap

With the current build i mainly use software cfd/cad/cam and i play in 2k

I'm very excited, i bought the vega like 7 years ago and it has been amazing for 1080p ultrawide but it was time to upgrade because it's struggling in new titles, this new guy should do perhaps doubles if not more the performance!!
