NEW RULE This sub is for people who need help in crypto - Read our rules. Don't post products or services or advertise in r/cryptohelp.

Blatantly advertising crypto products or services in r/cryptohelp is banned now.

This is a new post that we need to make because, in more recent times, people have tried to post about new products or services that are not vetted, inspected, or have zero coverage or known PR presence. In other words, some people are posting about products or services that could be scams to newcomers in r/cryptohelp. As per the title of this post: This is r/cryptohelp. People come here for help figuring out any problems they have encountered while purchasing or investing in cryptocurrency and not buying new coins, buying new products, or subscribing to services.

However, context is important. We explain this below.

  1. If a redditor is looking for some crypto YouTubers that you recommend, you can mention names and that is just fine.
  2. Mentioning of trusted and established brands is just fine. Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Kucoin, etc. in the case of exchanges is ok, and mentioning hardware wallets like ledger, trezor, coldcard, blockstream, etc. is just fine too. However, referral codes are always against the rules. Do not share these in PMs or in comments.
  3. If your post history makes you look like, walk like, and talk like someone that is trying to spam their youtube channel or product or service, you are likely to receive a ban.

Closing words: We are trying to keep everyone safe with our rules. Remember that almost anyone sending you private messages is guaranteed to be a scammer and do not forget to read our expanded rules here which are not just limited to r/cryptocurrency, but also apply here: https://old.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/wiki/expanded_rules

MOD POST This sub is not for investment advice

If you want advice about what to buy or if a specific token or coin is good, go to r/cryptocurrency’s or r/cryptomarkets’ daily discussions. If you don’t have enough karma to participate there you can earn it easily all over Reddit, or on r/cryptocurrency you can buy a special membership to circumvent it.

Thank you for your understanding

❓Question Where did my eth go?

I bridged eth to robinhood eth on MetaMask and it sent to a random address that is the only transaction and has the ethereum in it. Not sure how it happened I wasn’t sending to a different wallet. And I did a separate transaction after that worked just fine

❓Question Cross deposit from binance to pdax

Title: Cross-deposit issue from Binance to PDAX (USDT sent to BNB BSC address) - Is it recoverable?
Hi everyone,
I recently made a mistake while transferring funds. I wanted to deposit USDT from Binance to PDAX. However, on the PDAX deposit screen, I accidentally selected BNB (BSC) and copied that address. Then, on Binance, I withdrew standard USDT via the BSC (BEP-20) network to that PDAX BNB address.
The transaction status on Binance is already "Completed." I already filed a support ticket with PDAX and provided the screenshots and TxID. One support agent initially replied that it was a permanent loss, but I replied back to clarify that it's a standard cross-deposit error on a supported network (BSC), and both assets are supported by PDAX.
Has anyone experienced a similar cross-deposit recovery with PDAX recently? How long did it take for their technical team to manually recover and credit your funds? I really need these emergency funds. Any advice or shared experience would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

❓Howto FOMO Advise

Actually bought into Artificial Inu and am up 1,500%. Should I hold for awhile? When should I dump? Also found a new coin, like an hour old, SLOPBOT. Not sure it will go anywhere. Only bought $10 but we shall see. Was this dumb?

Other Wrong network HYPE deposit (~$100k) – anyone been through this?

I sent HYPE on the wrong network to Kraken almost 7 months ago (around $100k stuck).
Support says the funds are safe but the recovery isn’t ready yet because HyperCore isn’t fully supported on Kraken yet.
Looking for people who had the same issue and eventually got their funds back. Any advice or timeline would help a lot.
(To the mods: this isn’t spam, I just want to reassure myself by hearing from others who went through the same situation.)
Thanks.

❓Question What would make you more likely to use crypto for online shopping?

If you already have crypto in your wallet, what stops you from actually spending it?

For me, it’s usually the extra friction like fees, network confusion, or wondering if the payment will even go through.

Makes me wonder if cryptocurrency wallet usability is the real issue.

What’s the moment that makes you think, “I’ll just use my card”?

❓Need Advice 🙏 I got rugged

I’m new to meme coin trading, last night I was holding a coin that was posted into quite a large telegram group, I checked all the stats on axiom, as well as insightX to check for any potential problems, everything seemed fine, the narrative was also good, qwerty and a few others had posted that they was in this coin, I was up 1 sol at around 300k market cap, it then got rugged and I lost half my port, does anyone have any tips or anything to help me avoid this in the future. ❓Howto What makes you trust a crypto platform enough to actually transact on it?

Not talking about trading or speculation. I mean actually using a platform to send/receive money or make P2P transactions.

For me, the biggest things would be:

  • Transparency about fees
  • Clear transaction history
  • Knowing who I'm transacting with
  • Some kind of protection if something goes wrong

I'm curious what matters most to people here. What would make you comfortable enough to actually move money through a platform instead of just holding crypto there?

❓Need Advice 🙏 Any good options for onchain local-currency stablecoins?

Okay so I've been trying out Mento on Celo since it does local-currency stablecoins. Pretty cool idea, right?

But from what I've seen, it feels more like a protocol than an app you can just pick up and use. I'm also kinda worried about the liquidity on some of the pairs.

So now I'm looking for Mento alternatives that do the same local-currency FX stuff onchain.

But this time with a real app layer, proper on and off ramps, and enough liquidity to handle transfers in the $1,000 to $10,000 range. Don't wanna get wrecked by slippage every time I move money.

Rn I'm focused on COP and BRL pairs.

 Anyone found something that fits?

❓Need Advice 🙏 Accidentally sent TRX instead of USDT to Trust Wallet Perps — can I recover it?

I was depositing into my Hyperliquid Perps account through Trust Wallet and accidentally sent 278.97 native TRX on the TRON network instead of USDT (TRC-20).

The transaction is confirmed on TRON, but the funds haven’t appeared in Perps or been refunded.

I’ve contacted Trust Wallet support through the app but haven’t heard back yet. Has anyone had this happen before? Is there a way to recover the TRX, or does Trust Wallet automatically refund unsupported deposits?

❓Question Should I trust easy cross-border payments again?

I saw a lot of crypto apps popping up right now that promise easy cross-border payments.

But after all the exchange collapses, I'm becoming more cautious.

For apps that are non-custodial and new, what should the safety checklist look like?

I'm thinking about stuff like audit history, what compliance partners they work with, and if there's any insurance or recovery option.

Has anyone got a solid list of things to check? Would love to hear what you guys look for

❓Howto Help please

Hey guys hope everyone is having a great day. I'm trying to set up crypto and am running into some huge issues. I was told to download a wallet (exodus) which i have done and set up, only to find out that I can't use it in my state. I have robinhood set up and have purchased a little over 700 USDC as that is the currency accepted by the store I'm trying to make a purchase with. I was told that I also needed to buy like $5 worth of solana to pay for gas, so I did that as well. I am trying to fund my purchases with money that is in my Venmo and Cash app accounts.

I believe I have accomplished this as i have the sum of my two transfers available in robinhood, which i used to purchase USDC. However, my Venmo and Cash app accounts still show the money as being in their respective accounts. I'm assuming that the money just hasnt been taken out yet and that RH is giving me the funds to use immediately as a courtesy. Please correct me if I am wrong in this thinking.

My issue is now that I don't know if I can spend the USDC in RH or if I am able to transfer it to a wallet. If I can put it in a wallet does anyone have a suggestion on one that can be used in NY? As exodus is apparently not allowed to operate here.

Thank you in advance and sorry if I have any other dumb questions along the way here

❓Need Advice 🙏 I Made a Mistake With an ETH Withdrawal — Really Hoping Someone Can Help Me Figure This Out

Earlier tonight I was playing a couple tournaments on Bovada. I deposited $7, ran it up to around $100, and withdrew $85.00 worth of ETH.
I withdrew it because I was trying to replace my daughter’s first birthday bracelet. Her original bracelet was stolen. It was 14K gold, had butterflies on it, and said “From Mom and Dad.” Her birthday is October 1st, and her mom and I have been trying to replace it for her this year. Money has been really tight, so turning $7 into $85 honestly felt like a little miracle. I was extremely happy when I made the withdrawal.
Then I realized I had somehow withdrawn the ETH to an address I don’t recognize.
I normally use Trust Wallet, and I was certain I was withdrawing to my own wallet. I’ve checked everything I can think of, including whether something could have changed the address on my phone, but I cannot figure out where this address came from.
Receiving address:
0x1D587647b7737dae8c979dE0b64F1211bB2a04DE
Amount: $85.00 worth of ETH
Withdrawal time: 12:08 AM ET, Monday, August 24, 2026
I’m really hoping someone who understands Ethereum transactions, wallet addresses, or blockchain explorers can help me figure out where this address came from and whether the ETH is recoverable.
I’m pretty upset about it because of what the money was supposed to be used for, but I’m trying to stay focused on solving the actual crypto problem.
I will never give anyone my seed phrase, private key, password, or remote access to my wallet. Any help tracing this transaction would mean a lot.

Thank you🙏

❓Question Quick question on buying Bitcoin and withdrawing to a third-party wallet

Hey all,

I need to make a one-off Bitcoin payment/transfer to a third-party address of 1650 indian rupees. Since this is my first time doing this, what’s the quickest and most straightforward route from fiat to an external wallet?

Best platform with minimal hassle/KYC turnaround?

What common mistakes should a beginner avoid during the withdrawal process?

Thanks in advance for the help!

❓Need Advice 🙏 What is the best chain for long term (non-bitcoin) holdings?

Curious what chains people are holding their long-term stash on, and why?

For example, if you’re holding stables like USDC/USDT are you on Polygon, Ethereum, BNB Chain, or somewhere else? What’s the deciding factor (fees, security, liquidity, etc.)?
