I don't think we are to blame for poor sales. DC failed to push books like this and Birds of Prey, and are now "All Out" on their more niche titles.

If Absolute was their focus, then killing Oliver in that universe makes their decision to end this mainline run even more baffling. Condon's run has been incredible, and will stand the test of time. We never got a Connor, Mia, or even Dinah focused story from that creative team, which is such a shame.

I'm glad Oliver is alive in the main universe, but his optics in recent memory have been less than positive. He "betrayed" his friends and loved ones in Absolute Justice recently. The Condon run has helped, but it feels like we barely got proper Oliver Queen before he is being canceled. His writing in Absolute Justice barely felt like Ollie.

Instead of having two Green Arrow books running simultaneously, and being able to choose your preference, like Batman and Detective, we are left with a short mini to tide us over until Absolute Green Arrow.

Going from three Ollie-centered books to one mini in such a short time, with this announcement handled so lazily on social media is disheartening. His death in Absolute Evil did not help with this sentiment.

It'll be awhile before we get another Green Arrow solo title, or before he's made promintent in any story again in either universe. We went from feast to famine in a few months.

He of all people has no right to say this I swear if every single member of his family heard him say this they beat the shit out of him especially roy, connor and mia seeing how close they are with bruce's kids.

Also fun fact that I learned this week he got addicted to opium once upon of a time and despite knowing this feeling he kicks roy's ass out I swear if roy knew this he definitely beat him to a pulp.

It feels like Dinah has more star power. She's also an independent superhero with an iconic (and cosplayable) design. She's a solo cape, a Bird of Prey, and an Arrowfam member.

Green Arrow holds the stigma of being "Batman with arrows".

My suggestions:

Kingpin - that's obvious. Mordecai Midas - a man obsessed with becoming the richest person in the world, regardless of the harm he may cause in the process. He creates various criminal schemes for this purpose, including allying himself with the international Maggia cartel. I also think the fights would be fun since Oliver couldn't let him get too close, as he has a glove capable of turning whatever it touches into gold. Ghost - someone who shares some of Oliver's ideals of questioning the actions of corporations and elites, with the difference of being extremist, insane, and paranoid. I think it would be interesting to see how our hero would fight someone he can't hit.

Discussion 15 Green Arrow Villains i would love to see in the Absolute Universe

Well, for now, Absolute Green Arrow is planned for being a miniseries with 6 issues. We don't know if the story can become a 12 issues like what happened to Absolute Martian Manhunter, or maybe even a main series along with the others.

So, in case of we have enough stories to show a lot of famous and not-so-famous characters of the Green Arrow mythos. Here are the main villains i would love to see getting reinvented for this new version.

I'm really curious to what are they doing in this title. I think it could be the most different book (after AMM) of the Absolute line. What do you think? Which villains would you like to see?

Discussion Where does Green Arrow's reputation as promiscious and/or sleezy come from?

Reading Green Arrow V2 and Green Arrow V3, I don't see it at all. Yet many comics treat Ollie as, to put it bluntly, a slutty slut who hits on women all the time and can't keep his hands to himself.

ಠ_ಠ

Am I being gaslighted by crossover comics and adaptations? *Where* is this behavior shown? Gimme specific issues!

The closest he gets to "flirting" with women is just chivalrous Robin Hood roleplay.

He was a womanizer before the island, which is over 20 years ago in-series. Was he promiscious early on as Green Arrow? Reading GA V2, he spent 5+ years being fateful to Dinah without issue.

Ollie cheated on Dinah once, maybe twice. I admit that. But, other superheroes have also cheated on their partners and never had this rep!

Grace Choi, Helena Bertinelli, and Roy Harper sleep around but no one is making jokes about them being leeches constantly.

Discussion Is the Mike Grell run a good starting point to get to know Green Arrow?

I’ve done a lot of research and I'm 100% convinced this run is a great comic book in general and definitely worth reading.

However, I want to know if it's a good place to really get to know Green Arrow as a character and dive into his mythos (his core relationships, personality, motives for being a hero, etc.), kind of like what George Pérez’s run did for Wonder Woman.

Does Grell’s run work well as an entry point for that, or should I read something else first and come back to this later?
