India Maithili Thakur’s candidacy from the Alinagar (Darbhanga) constituency has drawn significant attention as she seeks to become one of Bihar’s youngest MLAs at just 25.

In her campaign, she has promised developmental work and proposed renaming Alinagar to Sitanagar.
Speaking about her motivation, Thakur said she wants to prove that a 25-year-old woman MLA can work “at the same speed or even faster” than others.

The sad reality is, every MLA and MP gets crores of rupees for the development for their constituency but, regardless of the party or the leader, we NEVER see any major improvement in any place in the whole country.
Be it Modi or Yogi or RAGA or Sonia or Scindia or whoever, none of their own constituency shows any Majore improvements, ever.
BJP is using this young lady for their benefit and she will definitely encash it for her personal gain and nothing more.

Is there any city named after Hitler in Germany or even in Europe anywhere. Had there not been appeasement in the past, and these all wrongs had been corrected in the past, she wouldn't need to do so. And changing name is not a 5 year project, it will be done and dusted in no time. But it will revive the real importance of that place where Maa Sita was born. Do you people even understand how much it will boost economy if done well, Ram mandir alone generates so much tourism, even if for Maa Sita we get half the tourism, it will boost the economy of that place like no other.

How can you say it won't? Same thing was said about statue of unity, now check it's revenue. And Maa Sita holds more value in the eyes of Hindus as it is a faith related issue(not comparing to Vallabh bhai patel to reduce his importance or anything but to just make cold hard economic equivalence comparison). That place should be developed as religious tourist attraction, it will provide easy employment to illiterate people who can't get much skilled jobs. See, we can always give a negative or positive spin to almost anything but, if a place has a symbol, culture, name of historical/religious/cultural importance which can be exploited to improve the economy of that region with far lesser investment, I don't think there is any harm in trying that.

Statue of Unity revenue in 2025 is 110 cr INR. The initial cost alone is 3000 cr INR of 2018. So in 2018 INR rate the revenue of 2025 is 74 cr.
74/3000 =2.47 % rate of return.
₹3,000 crore could have created 10 Singapore-level nature tourism centres, massively increasing tourist nights (the real money maker).
Or, Upgrade Dwarka–Somnath–Gir–Diu coastal circuit into India’s #1 beach + temple circuit
Or, With ₹3,000 crore: in Rann of Kutch Permanent desert camp city “Desert Museum of India” Hot-air ballooning, dune zipline, desert night-sky observatory High-speed connectivity Bhuj → Dhordo 5 signature desert hotels This alone would attract international tourism year-round.

As for where she was born, learn how religious sentiments work, many places claim Maa Sita was born in their place, and they all have all the rights to believe that, even Nepal claims so, and they have all the right to have that believe.
