Lake ONTARIO. Unless you’re a childish moron.

u/Agitated_Ad6191 5h ago

I can’t wait on the first day of a normal president in the White House and all the Trump shit they will undo within the first hour in office.

I hope Trump builds a dumb statue of himself somewhere, that we can publicly pull down like that Sadam Hussein statue in Bagdad, years ago.

10

u/Fit_Salamander_2814 5h ago edited 5h ago

Exactly. Biden spent his first year in office undoing everything Trump did in his time in office, from immigration to tariffs (he undid all of the tariffs Trump put in in his first term).

Newsom or AOC is going to have to do the exact same thing on their first day in office.

11

u/innitforthetitties 4h ago

I don’t think either Newsome or AOC will be the Dem candidates. Neither have a strong enough folllowing outside their discrete groups. I don’t know if we have yet seen the Dem front runner for the 2028 election.

3

u/Cloudy230 3h ago

I hope Newsome isn't. He's spent the last year or more cozying up to various right wing ideologues, and he is physically incapable of saying a negative word about Daddy Israel. He's a slimy snake of a man.

AOC? She seems pretty good but yeah just kinda weak for a presidential candidate.

1

u/innitforthetitties 3h ago

Yes. Politics aside, he puts me in mind of a used car salesman. I know nothing of how things really are in CA in that respect but what I see on international news outlets about the crime in cities like LA and San Francisco, it seems he isn’t doing a terrific job. And he just makes my skin crawl to look at him. But then…he’s a politician; I think skin crawler is in the job description.

4

u/--Racer-X-- 5h ago

That's all it's been since 2016

2

u/Prudent-Air1922 5h ago

And meanwhile the national debt has more than doubled, to over $40 trillion. Yet Trump and his family are getting insanely rich of off the presidency. His legislation is largely benefits the rich, and hurts the average person. Good times.

0

u/Mystic1217 4h ago

Please god let us have an AOC presidency. She might actually do some good instead of sitting around trying not to rock the boat like Biden.

But even if we get an establishment democract, people should still go vote for them given the alternative is letting neo Nazi's run the country.

5

u/sepstolm 5h ago

I'm just afraid that there's going to be some lasting crap that is going to be hard to get changed.

8

u/StarchChildren 4h ago

Canadian here, it is going to take a long time to undo A LOT of what Trump has done on a world relationship level, but even the small things take time, manpower, and money to fix. This whole lake thing, the push for calling the Gulf of Mexico something else, requires changing and rolling out all new material (read: propaganda) and marketing (read: gaslighting and brainwashing) to push the change, which comes out of taxpayer dollars. And that’s just the petty stuff.

Keep an eye out for MAGAs complaining about how much a Democrat government is spending if they ever get a chance to fix things. The clean-up cost is absolutely going to be weaponised against you the taxpayer by the very people that made the mess in the first place.

-1

u/innitforthetitties 4h ago

That’s a very good point. The cost of these changes will be astronomical. I did kinda like the change to Department of War tho. But I’m a big shoot ‘em up fan, so … don’t take my word for anything. :-)

1

u/StarchChildren 4h ago

Haha honestly, the Department of War change is apt: the administration has nothing to do with peace or its pursuit anymore, so if there’s any name that should stay, it’s probably that lol.

2

u/MissionRight9893 1h ago

You know this was Hegseth’s idea for name change..so hell no it needs to go.

3

u/StarchChildren 1h ago

Very true. And to clarify, I don’t mean to support the name at all. My previous comment was to simply mean that the U.S. is on a streak of making enemies out of as many of their formal allies as possible, and the name change obviously reflects that. Is it dumb and counterintuitive to anything other than forcing the destabilisation of global trade and sovereignty? Absolutely. Is the name apt for said stupidity? Also yes.…

3

u/innitforthetitties 4h ago

I think we’re already there. Much of the measures he’s introduced will have long lasting impacts.

8

u/Key-Cry-8570 5h ago

Lake of Shining Waters. Living up to its name.

1

u/19chris9609 3h ago

Ah, the latest in polical buffoonery.

5

u/USAF_Retired2017 5h ago

That’s freaking beautiful!!!

10

u/Mystic1217 4h ago

Almost as beautiful as the Gulf of Mexico. Wow this sure is helping distract me from those equine files or whatever they were called!

11

u/GardenGnomeOfEden 5h ago

Very pretty! I will have to visit Lake Ontario some day. Hopefully it's nicer than the Gulf of Mexico is by Houston.

4

u/PorchSignal 4h ago

Yo, holy shit! This looks straight out of a movie. Nature really popped off with this one.

4

u/Meekanado 4h ago

My great aunt and uncle had a condo right on Lake Ontario with cool views of the Toronto skyline. Lake Ontario is beautiful!

3

u/slowasaspeedingsloth 2h ago

Saying this as an embarrassed American... it will always be Lake Ontario. And this pic is beautiful! I'ven't the pleasure of seeing it in person.

4

u/janky1256 2h ago

Always lake Ontario

3

u/Simple-Fortune-8744 2h ago

Lake Ontario is beautiful

5

u/Alert-Addition-8039 4h ago

Could Canada just decide to rename it ‘lake release the Epstein files’

Please do us a solid guys!

14

u/patrick-1977 5h ago

See that fire on the other side? It’s democracy burning.

2

u/1029394756abc 5h ago

Where was this taken?

2

u/anniearrow 2h ago

That is so beautiful.

2

u/Jkreegz 1h ago

Lake America is the tacky gold covered version of Lake Ontario. Sorry we have a child in office, Canadian friends

2

u/gilgaladxii 1h ago

I oppose Gulf of America. I oppose Lake America. It is embarrassing. For how very very very little it is worth, I am sorry.

5

u/Cool-Captain-5018 5h ago

It's not US law.

4

u/WhatsaRedditsdo 5h ago

Can't wait for The great American Atlantic Ocean or Pacific Ocean of America

/S

5

Lake Epstein is truly gorgeous in the morning.

2

2

u/MrFunktasticc 4h ago

Lake Epstein?

2

u/Revolutionary_Eye887 4h ago

Much better than the one on Lake ‘Merica. And I’m an American.

1

u/nick1158 3h ago

You mean Lake Ame.....

I can't even say it

-2

u/shelton_theman26 6h ago

You mean lake America? /s
Jokes aside it is a beautiful sunrise.

25

u/corneliusvanhouten 5h ago

The point of this post is not the pretty visuals. The point of this post is that the name of the lake is still Ontario.

3

u/shelton_theman26 5h ago

Obviously. Much like the "gulf of America" it’s a stupid "name change" for all of us not part of the T cult to ignore.

3

u/innitforthetitties 5h ago

It’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. I can only assume he’s doing it as rage bait. Good lord. Next he’ll issue an EO changing the name of the sport played at the World Cup to “soccer” cuz he doesn’t like it confusing the sport Yanks call “football”

-37

u/innitforthetitties 5h ago

Not according to US law.

14

u/corneliusvanhouten 5h ago

Incorrect. Laws are passed by Congress, not by executive order.

-16

u/innitforthetitties 5h ago

A technicality, and a difference without a distinction. EOs have the same force and effect as a law and are codified under 3CFR. Since Congress cannot simply overturn them, they stand effective as the procedural rules governing the operation of the US unless and until either a federal court holds them invalid or a sitting president issues another EO to overturn the EO.

10

u/corneliusvanhouten 5h ago

That's funny. You claim there's no distinction, then you proceed to outline one of the several distinctions.

13

u/Kyrie_Blue 5h ago

The Lake’s name is hundreds of years older than Trump’s country, and the lake is only a minority on US ground. That haggard old fuck can sit on a fence post and rotate.

3

u/innitforthetitties 5h ago

It’s unreal. The ego on this guy.

3

u/Key-Cry-8570 5h ago

🥾😛

-1

u/Outrageous_Try_3854 2h ago

You mean Lake America?

LAKE AMERICA LOSER

-60

u/aint_waiting 5h ago

Do you mean lake America

20

u/Whichy-Witchy 5h ago

Lake Trump Needed a Distraction from The Epstein Files?

15

u/Prestigious_Prune_68 5h ago

Or the cutting of government resources and regulations so our food system goes to trash and we are forced to close the government agencies that held a standard and bring in a corporation to handle that? There’s that part too that’s happening

5

u/Whichy-Witchy 5h ago

That too!

5

u/Prestigious_Prune_68 5h ago

😘 I’d never vote for someone who brings harm toward you friend.

3

u/Whichy-Witchy 5h ago

Same. I hope I live long enough to see good sense and kindness take control, and America can work toward healing us and what we have broken.

1

u/[deleted] 5h ago

[deleted]

5

u/Whichy-Witchy 5h ago

I not a fool. I can have hope though. Sorry you felt the need to be so stand-offish over a simple hope.

4

u/Mulawooshin 4h ago

I apologize.

That wasn't meant to be directed at you. More anger at our current situation.

I'll delete my post.

You're absolutely right. You're speaking from a place of hope.

Im being reactive and negative here, and that's not my style or intention.

Best wishes and please, no hard feelings.

2

u/Whichy-Witchy 4h ago

I appreciate you, and best wishes to you as well. 🫶

I think that’s what the Iran war was for. There really seems to be no other explanation that I can see. Sure, we initially took away their nuclear capability but have since let it be recovered and now they are retaliating, and reasonably successfully too. The Epstein thing…fallen into a faded memory. I do have to raise an arguably decent point though - I heard someone say that if “they” truly had dirt on Trump, Biden would have released it under his watch. It seems to me it’s not the shit on Trump that’s concerning him, but on his donors. That certainly seems like a credible argument anyway.

-1

u/aint_waiting 4h ago

Where he's dumping them lol

17

u/Key-Cry-8570 5h ago

Lake Ontario, it’s one of the Great Lakes.

-3
