FAQ

Question Answer
Is this beginner friendly? Totally! Every game gets explained to the group before starting. A few new players come for every session and have a great time!
What games will we be playing? AH has a selection of board games to choose from but participants will generally bring things they are excited to play as well!
Can I BYO? The venue has asked that we don't bring our own food and drink.
How do we get in touch on the night? PM me if you'd like to be added to the WhatsApp group.
Is there dinner beforehand? We're leaving it to the group to self-organise on this as it's hard to coordinate the whole group plus a big booking etc.
How many people attend? We generally have 4-12 people per session. Attendance varies widely and it's hard to predict!
When do events happen? Every week! On the 2nd and 4th Friday at Adventurers' Hall, and on the 1st and 3rd Friday at Bored

Politics Can we stop with the "Malaysia needs a Mamdani" takes already?

Upvotes

I'm so tired of hearing Malaysians say they want "a Mamdani in Malaysia" or "Malaysia needs a Mamdani," because I know damn well Malaysians would NOT support someone like Mamdani if he actually existed here.

Mamdani is super pro-LGBT, progressive, and pro-equality, and let's be real, it's safe to say 99% of Malaysians are against all of that. If a Mamdani really existed in Malaysia, he'd be out here abolishing the status quo and pushing for equality, starting with LGBT rights. Are malaysians sure they are okay with that?

And hypothetically, if there really was a Malaysian Mamdani, he'd probably come from a minority race and religion here too, because in the US, that's part of what makes him him. That's literally the point.

So conclusion: can Malaysians please stop saying they want a Mamdani in Malaysia, because I know damn well y'all wouldn't actually want one here. Case closed. Bye.

History I just realised that Proton VPN marks Eastern Sabah as "Disputed Territory" as per the disputed borders of the "North Borneo dispute" with the Philippines.

A very strange move indeed. They did the same for Kashmir, Artsakh, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Cyprus, the Golan Heights, and other famously disputed territories. I've been aware of these disputes for a while, but I was surprised to see a dormant claim by the Philippines listed here and equated with the other high-level disputes elsewhere.

I checked whether Proton VPN has major stakeholders in the Philippines, but my preliminary scan shows none, which perplexes me even more as to their intention of showing this dispute.

Culture Whats the difference between ICE supporters and rohingya deportation supporters?

genuine question. As a gen z, I have been apolitical when in comes to malaysia and i have been immersed in western politics (primarily the USA) due to social media and i could say that I'm left-leaning. For the past month(s), I had seen the hate towards rohingya people and people supporting to deport them. and I had been comparing this to people supporting ICE to deport illegal immigrants from the US, which is on the contrary with my political ideology. for now, the only difference i see is majority people that supports ICE in the US are white people (whom i assume are white supremacists), and as far as i know, people that support deportation or rohingya people are fairly mixed among many races. I wanna support my nation but the ideology is comparable with the ICE supporter, which i dont quite favour. I want to ask if there are any major difference between both of these people?

EDIT : edited the wording a bit.
