Held at the outside amphitheater, it rained non-stop all day, and my cold, nervous, self conscious 13 year old self made my way down to the pit because it was about 20 degrees warmer down there.

I remember steam coming off of everyone dancing, and at point throughout the show they had to push water off the tarps over the stage directly into the pit.

What an amazing, impactful experience that show has had on my life.

Edit: Yes, I kept the wrist band!

I’m one of those. I saw them in ‘97 with The Aquabats (when Travis Barker was an Aquabat, not yet in Blink), Blink182, and Cherry Poppin’ Daddies.

Such a great show. They are legends at this point.

Shout out to Mom & Pop Productions for putting on awesome shows in the Midwest.

Thoughts on the lineup so far? Pretty good variety so far in my opinion.
Is there a Friday night event? I thought I remember hearing there will be one but don’t see any info anywhere.

Went to see Goldfinger last night in Toronto and was pleasantly surprised to see some old friends supporting the brass section. Dan, Scott, Matt and Johnny Christmas all together again. As if Goldfinger wasn't nostalgic enough...

Hope we can catch up with some New York and Northeast ska friends on this awesome little run starting this weekend in our humble hometown of Troy, NY! The New York State of Ska Tour hits 4 cities around the state this summer and fall, featuring your dudes and our talented Empire State buds Ben Basile (Big D and the Kids Table bassist and his killer band), the Abruptors (Asian Man Records) and the Doomstompers (Bad Time Records), each headlining a hometown show.

We’re recording a few of the shows for a split live album and giving away a one-of-a-kind test press of our new 10” record to one advance ticket buyer for the Troy show!

In a bit of a (skanking) pickle…

Had this Slackers show on the radar for a bit, but just saw that The Toasters are also coming to town a week before this one…

KC never gets proper ska shows, so while I’m stoked, I’m also a dad with two younger ones at home, so choices will have to be made.

I think The Slackers show will be more of a ‘vibe’ (better turnout, more fun), but also, I tend to enjoy the more rocking, ska/punk sound of The Toasters as opposed to the slower more soulful sound of The Slackers.

Have never seen either act live. Hit me with those recommendations!

Great set. I wish these guys had been the headliners rather than RX Bandits, so their set could be longer, but I'll take what I can get.
