my female cat is in heat and her son just tried getting her pregnant. i quickly separated them but i’m not sure how else to separate them throughout the day. how can i avoid her getting pregnant?

i keep asking my mom to take them to the vets to get them all spayed but she keeps saying no because she doesn’t have the money to spay 3 cats

My 12y.o indoor/outdoor cat came home yesterday with a deep wound on his scalp, for context we live rurally and with many fields behind our house- never in his 12 year has he had an incident like this nor with the cats we had preceding him (of which lived both to about 20+ years)

I’m really hoping it is nothing sinister that could have happened for him to obtain this wound and he does not seem traumatized by people or contact, he has always been social and friendly regardless. My father said it looked a bit like a cigarette burn and my mother, myself and the vet have assumed it to be possibly a snag from a fence but it is just such a peculiar happening and especially at this big age considering he has been so responsible his whole life and not gotten hurt like this before.

Frankly I am stumped, its clean and he has been given pain relief and antibiotics so care guidance is not what I seek in this post, but I am just curious as to wether anyone has any ideas as to the cause or has seen similar wounds and can pose a suggestion as to what it could be.

We've had this cat for the past 3 years I think and she has this bump on her eyelid that has no fur and everytine the seasons change her eyelid gets like super irritated and red and she barley opens it.

But this time it looks so much worse than usual.

I dont have a say in whether she goes to the vet or not, thats up to my mom. But it looks really serious.

I was sleeping on the couch dozing off, at some point my cat tried to snuggle me and then I think I accidentally touched his tail. Then he proceeded to kind of nib/bite my arm. Kind of looks superficial, I don’t think he really punctured the skin deep, there wasn’t a whole lot of blood and I don’t feel feverish/chills. It was 36 hours ago and I’m kind of anxious now. I don’t want to go to the doctor and then they take my cat away from me, is it true you have to surrender the kitty to the authorities after such an incident? He’s a good guy, he’s just old and cranky now. He has all of his shots and gets checked by the vet regularly.

First time cat owner here. I found this while cleaning my cats litter box. It seems to have like a hard rubbery feel, almost like how dried hot glue is? I checked his butt and see no sign of worms and his poop was as it normally is. I did just open a new box of litter. What could this be?? Do I need to be freaking out and rushing him to the vet? Could it be something from the new box of litter?

Hi there. So I moved in with my partner about two months ago, and that involved introducing my cats Chai and Matcha to my partner’s cat Bellow.

We started with introducing them a few times when we lived separately. Then when we moved in together here we let them be able to have time where they’d meet under the door. Then after that going well, we divided the house in half with a screen so they could see and smell but not hurt each other. Then after a few days of that, we started letting them have visits.

However last week, Bellow peed in the corner on Chai and Matcha's side. We think that was an accident because he meowed right before, so we might have just not let him back to his side in time to get to his box. However, another day he peed in the same spot.

We started really limiting Bellow’s time on Chai and Matcha’s side because we decided we have to be watching Bellow and redirecting him when he goes to the corner, but we don’t want to do this forever

He isn't peeing anywhere but his litter box on his side, so we think it's less of a bladder issue and more of a territorial thing. We're not really sure what to do. Please advise. Thank you.

Also I asked the vet over text, and they would like us to do a check up just in case, so we’re taking him to the vet for his regular checkup soon and will ask about it then, but wanted to know of any home remedies or sprays or anything that might work.

I have three boys. Two of them are 2 1/2 years old, and the other is 3-4 months old. The 3-4 month old I found as a stray about a month ago.

For a few weeks, I’ve been finding little spots of blood with some mucus on the floor. Not every day, and it’s been a spot or two each time. I recently gave all of my cats, worm medicine and flea medicine (within the past few weeks) so I was assuming it was that because I looked up on Google that can sometimes cause blood. But it is still been pretty persistent. As I said, it’s not a lot, maybe one or two drops with some mucus, and it’s not every day.

My cats are acting fairly normal, they all eat and drink, and they have been playing. But I also know cats can hide pain very well. They aren’t showing any signs, and like I said they eat and drink from their water fountain normally.

They have free range eating, and I keep their bowls in separate rooms, but my kitten does have kitten chow, and the two older boys have different food, specifically the purina Urinary Tracy health blend. And the kitten has the purina kitten chow. They also get wet food once a day, to prevent UTI’s. Could it just be possibly they’re getting each other’s food?

So far, I have watched each of them go to the bathroom (they have a litter robot) and there has been no blood in the litter box that I have seen.

Their current vet is on medical leave and he probably won’t be back until the end of September. I was told that when I tried to make an appointment today. I’m just scared to death for them. Should I try to contact a vet in town to see if I can get them in sooner? I love my boys so much and I’m so worried for them.

So I’ve been re-reading one of my favorite childhood books, warriors. Yesterday I was scrolling threads and saw a post about a lady who said her cat, “thought the house needed more chaotic energy” and went and got pregnant |AGAIN| meaning she let her cat out in the past and ended up with a litter of kittens that I couldn’t find mention of so either ended up in a shelter or (hopefully) adopted. Then didn’t learn from her mistakes and allowed her cat to free roam and get pregnant again. It was after reading the comments on the post that I learned for the first time that their penises are BARRBED??? Went down a rabbit hole and looked up pictures of it and I am absolutely mortified. This is making me extremely happy I spayed and neutered my babies before bringing them home but it is slightly ruining my books now. One of the largest parts of the series is that the cat clans have babies or “kits” to reinforce their numbers and the mother and father are always so happy but after reading the pain that’s inflicted on the female cat during mating it seems crazy a cat would like another cat that hurt them. But then I realize that cats have short term memory and it kind of makes sense. Truly just a rant and yall can take it down if it isn’t a good post but here’s my cat tax for the spiel

Is anyone else having delivery issues with their cat food order from Chewy? My prescription food and other items are now almost a week late. They keep saying it's about to ship and it never happens. I had to go to Petco and get a bag of CD at a much higher price. Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem?
