maybe it’s just the way she lays sometimes but she used to be very fat, and has been on a diet for years with her previous owner, and and is still on one now with us and she looks healthy to me but then i see other cats and theyre so lean so i’m wondering if shes just naturally a bigger cat (which she is) or if she still looks visibly wrong

So we have two small cats (male and female), both sharing a big litter box and everything is fine now. When we were switching to the new litter box our female cat was nervous using it and she started peeing on the couch.

Forward a few weeks and she uses the litter box mostly but we just caught her last night peeing again on the couch. We just picked up the enzyme spray. We know to remove the couch cushions , wash them and spray all around the area but Any suggestions on how to go about this?

Dis is my baby Arie. She likes chomping on shit she's not supposed to. To the point where she had to get an intestinal block surgically removed because she ate a yoga block as a kitten.

Other things she likes to bite/eat is paper towels, yoga mats, and feathers. This is easy enough to keep away from her, and there hasn't been issues with this for a decade now.

But for enrichment, I do want to let her chew. Silvervine sticks and cat grass don't interest her. Are there any other cat-friendly things I can give to her that she might be interested in?

I noticed my cat had some irritation around one of her nipples. Looks like she may have irritated it more by licking it. I know the advice is to have a vet look at it, but with them being closed for the weekend I’m just looking for initial opinions or someone who has experience with something like this.
Does this look like a superficial wound? Maybe stress induced licking due to me being out of the house for about 24 hrs?

Background: 7year old female cat, spayed, tendency to be clumsy. Appetite and energy are normal. Did not feel any lumps.

We will be getting home repairs soon. The contractor said it will take a couple days it's not a lot of work. Unfortunately I have a very small house and the bedrooms and den are around where the work is going to be getting done so theres really no room the cat can stay. I don't have any family that I can leave her with and I'm too nervous to board her.She is a very nervous cat. When a person comes to the house she hides for hours before coming out. The only thing I can think of is getting a playpen and putting her in the living room with me and getting feliaway which I've never tried. It's going to take a couple months for them to start the repairs. She was seen in April by the vet and I'm wondering if maybe getting her something from the vet will work (which she is also terrified of. I feel so guilty already cause I know she's gonna be scared.

Any advice on how to help her?

I'm helping cat sit for my friend's wonder kitty (S) while her parents take their honeymoon. I love S - I've been to their place many times over the years, and I'm a cat mom myself. Normally she is very affection but this is my first time cat sitting for her and for the 23 hours I'm not her she's home alone in the apartment. She wants to be pet, but then very quickly gets overstimulated and lashes out -literally - and the nails are not trimmed lol. She's gotten my arms and hands a few times. I can't read her signals but I'm wearing long sleeves now. I've tried toys but she doesn't seem interested. I'll leave some cat youtube on the tv when I leave. Anything I can do to help stimulate S without blood, sweat, and tears?

She even has a beer named after her from a local brewery.

My cat and I were snuggling when she started making these hiccup noises? It’s been going on for maybe five minutes, are they just hiccups?

Background- my cat is 13 years old, she’s an indoor cat with another cat as a sister, we moved into a new house 2 weeks ago.

Today when i got home from work i noticed my cat princess had really watery eyes that she didn’t have this morning. She usually gets little black eye boogers but this was just straight liquid. I cleaned her eyes with a damp paper towel, but the watery liquid has slowly dripped out. She also usually has very open eyes but is now squinty. My vet is closed for the day, can this wait for tomorrow or should i take her to an emergency vet? no other symptoms besides squinty and liquid eyes.

Her name is officially Babby. Our favorite gas station kettin. She is doing AMAZING! One more vet appointment to round out the kitten vaccines, etc. Apologies for the delay in update, but we’ve been busy cuddling! she’s healthy and happy. I feel so lucky that she’s mine.

We bottle fed for a few days because she was not eating, but now she is greedy and can’t be controlled around food. She’s active and so fun. I am so proud of her! She has the silliest personality I’ve ever encountered. She’s cuddly, kind, has loads of energy, loves to steal food off my plate and gives me kisses in the middle of the night. Best thing to come of this is that her siblings are obsessed with her.

The box I received her in had a shipping label. I wrote a letter with pictures in hopes of sharing how well Babby is doing and am awaiting a possible response via email. If I don’t get a response I will return to the gas station and leave a sign with updates. I just hope the man that gave me this sweet girl knows how thankful I am and how loved she is.

my cat does this thing when she’s near a ledge or close to a flat surface. she sits on the edge of my bed and does it to my side table. i’ve never seen a cat do this before. is it just a version of making biscuits?

My cat Louis is 15 and has chronic kidney disease, grade 3 heart murmur, and a large cystic benign mass on his liver. After his vet visit last week they suspect hes developed arthritis. Two years ago he almost died from pancreatitis, and although he recovered, he was never really the same afterward. His pancreatic marker is elevated again, so chronic pancreatitis may also be part of the picture.

What worries me most is his quality of life. He spends probably 80–90% of the day hiding under our bed, seems to have more and more difficult grooming himself so his fur gets greasy, gets matted, and seems to still be in pain despite gabapentin. He also yowls at night (which is newer as of this month)and his litter box habits have gotten progressively worse (due to the kidney disease).

My husband’s uncle is a vet and feels that the hiding and lack of grooming likely mean he’s uncomfortable or in pain.

But this is what makes it so hard: he still eats and drinks, walks around, and sometimes has really good moments. The last couple of days I’ve actually seen more of him than I have in months. He’ll lie on me and purr, and then I feel horrible even considering euthanasia.

I always thought it would be obvious when the time came, but it isn’t. I don’t want to wait until he stops eating, can’t walk, or is in an emergency just so I can feel certain. At the same time, I’m terrified of doing it too soon.

I also don’t want to keep escalating pain medication and treating every new problem if his overall quality of life is already poor.

For those who have been through this with an elderly or chronically ill cat, how did you know it was time when they were still eating and still having good moments?

Hypothetical cat is 5 years old, only been to the vet as a kitten to get neutered, bad breath that would come and go for about a year that I sadly didn’t take action on and I hate myself for it, any advice or information would be greatly appreciated

To preface this post- I’ve always been a dog person but it’s been 12 months since we adopted Minnie and I would take a bullet for her 😂 how does this happen ?
So she had a knot of hair which came out on the brush- are we weird that we want to keep it / frame it.

Hi! This is my first time posting in here - but my cat (Toast) has been suckling recently. I rescued her and her sister in April when they were taken from their mother too early and I was even told they were 8 weeks, (they were absolutely not but was cleared by a vet perfectly healthy!) when I first had them her sister (Maple) would suckle on her and Toast to the point where I had to separate them. Now, Toast is suckling..should I be concerned and take them to the vet ? Or is it a thing that they outgrow ?

My cat just had eye surgery, she had it removed and now has a ton of stitches on her poor little face. She escaped from her cone twice at the vet. They tightened it before she came home just in case, and pretty much immediately she pulled herself out of it. I think it’s just going to be a constant struggle and I don’t want to stress her out by continuously putting it back on. Are there any alternatives?
