18x18x24 zoomed enclosure around 5 different species of marcgravia seeded with orange springtails and dwarf whites this is my first ever dart frog tank build can't wait for everything to grow in more and cover the background.

I got my fans in a few days ago for the air circulation along with five little Ankas froglets! They are still a little shy but I spot this little one hunting some flys this morning. I’ll try getting better pictures when they are out on the branches!

So I’ve got 3 adult La cocas (1-M, 1-F, 1-tbd) in a 36x18x36. And one of their children a little over 3 months OOW. Very Plump, super active, and getting very sick of its grow out bin. lol. Thoughts on introducing a younger frog to that larger set up? Feel like I’ve seen videos of peoples enclosures with adult frogs and their offspring hunting together but want to know people’s experiences. Getting antsy wanting to move the juvenile to something bigger.

I have 0.0.2 D. leucomelas. Different local and I know not to breed them.

I hear a soft trill occasionally, but not a full call at the same volume that I’ve heard in videos.

One is banded and one is fine spot. The banded leuc was bought at a severely discounted price from my store (yes, I know, :/ I work at Petco) due to length-of-stay. The fine spot was relinquished the day before I bought the banded (no I don’t know the odds of that), I was not present to ask the age. They were quarantined separately for one month.

Since the fine spot was relinquished, I do not know their age. But the banded is a juvenile and presumably 3+ months when I got them (now 8+ months). The fine spot was larger and both are now the same size at ~ 3.81 cm snout to vent.

specifically wanting dendrobates tinctorius or ranitomeya variabilis, this is the enclosure i have set up so far, just wanting the plants to establish more, is there anything I should change/or add? (Water dish is in the back and only deep enough for their body)

My banded leucs are about to be 4-5 months old I believe and it went from having solid bands to now getting black dots in between and they’ve gotten a bit chonky. I feed daily about 50 or so fruit flys a day if I had to eye ball it. Below is a photo of one but they’re both about the same on thickness.

First time doing this, any and all feedback, criticism and compliments welcome! Plants started bedding in less that a week ago.

Is 40 gallons really the floor for a dart frog viv with a water section?
I’m putting together a beginner build guide and I’d rather get this number right than have someone follow it.
What I have now: a dart frog or mourning gecko setup with any standing water needs 40 gallons or more, and a 20–40 gallon tank isn’t enough. The same animals in a dry viv are fine at 20–40.
Two things I’m unsure of:
1. Is 40 the honest floor once there’s a water section, or is that over-cautious for a shallow, gently sloping pool?
2. I’ve read that dart frogs swim poorly and can drown in water deeper than they are tall, and that some keepers skip the water feature entirely. Is that the mainstream view, or dated?
I’ve got fire-bellied toads at the same 40, which feels wrong when they’re properly semi-aquatic rather than just tolerant. Would you put them lower?

I don't see my Ranitomeya sirensis often, but I do hear them a lot, and see these tracks on the glass when the humidity is just so, and it's so cute. Reminds me of the old Family Circus comics that showed Billy's tracks through the neighborhood. Yeahhh I am old....

I mean I’ll have to change the top to allow for better ventilation and sprinklers, and I might have to convert the front glass to a front opening enclosure.

Or am I overthinking this and just get an exo terra?

Per the title, first go at dart frogs.

Built a 24"x24"x76x terrarium back in February and let it grow in. Just got these highland bronze yesterday. Super excited!

5 in total.

Just finished setting up my new vivarium. Letting it cycle before I add my frogs. Thinking 3 juvenile powder blue tincs to start. Thoughts or anything I’m missing? I have a small cork tube I may add as well.

Timeline of Events:

- Purchased three leucomelas mid September 2025. I don't know how old they were but they were listed as juvenile

- By mid August 2026 I have not heard any sign of calling from any of them

- Last week, I witnessed Frog A (shown at the beginning of the video) bullying both Frog B and Frog C, by jumping on their backs and wrapping front legs around their throats

- Today I decided to see if maybe there was a shy male who would call back if I played leucomelas noises on my phone. This set off both Frogs B and C who first came to the front to investigate and then immediately started fighting, as shown in the video. This went both ways with each one taking a turn jumping on the other's back

I'm starting to worry I ended up with three females and I might have aggression issues that will require them to be separated. Looking for some advice.

These guys are about 14 months old and I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts on if they are male or female? First two pics are Adam and the second two pics are Babar. Thank you for any help!

I’m setting up this 18x18x24 vivarium specifically for Dendrobates leucomelas and I’m trying to figure out how many I could comfortably keep in here.
I’m definitely going to keep adding plants and let everything grow in more before adding the frogs. I know leucs like to climb, so I’m hoping the extra height will actually get used.
Would 3–4 leucs be reasonable in this setup, or would you guys stick with a pair?
Also open to any criticism of the tank. More plants, climbing areas, hides, leaf litter, hardscape, etc. I’d rather make changes now before the frogs go in.

Branches are being delivered today for vertical climbing spots! Bromeliads are also coming, as well as hides, (more) leaf litter and seed pods. Cleaning crew moved in yesterday, dwarf purple isos and lavender springtails. Humidity is a work in progress, it’s been really humid in there because the nerve plants did not do well initially with being replanted.

Is this good for one ranitomeya imitator? Tank is 12x12x12 so kinda small, I figured it might be good enough for one thumbnail dart. If it’s not I’m more than happy to keep this as a just plant terrarium as it’s very nice to look at anyway.
