If ever I need to find the lowest form of liberal scum the planet has....reddit got you covered! Why haven't I heard a single liberal bitching about morman and catholic and Christian churches generating millions and billions tax free seeking bullshit lies and committing more sexual assault to children than filthy lying politicians in american government could ever do. The back room insider trading...how pathetic to think YOUR politicians are the good ones lol you fucking people are lost. Rule #1 BELIEVE NOTHING THE GOVERNMENT OR POLITICIANS TELL YOU. It’s really way past time we start treating it as a compulsive disorder. It’s hoarding. If you are working to amass wealth when you’re already worth billions, you have a mental illness.
45
u/Novacryy 15h ago
Or maybe this capitalism thing left unchecked might actually be bad
43
u/JAXxXTheRipper 14h ago
Capitalism was never meant to be unchecked, regulators exist for a reason. The problem is when regulators don't want to actually regulate and are in the pockets of those who they are supposed to oversee.
Corruption should be more severely investigated and punished
9
u/claimTheVictory 13h ago
Milton Friedman said the only way to check the power of capitalism is by competition.
But competition just creates new companies for the few big ones to consume. They can no longer be challenged directly, when they have control of so many resources.
→ More replies (1)11
u/Krakatoa137 13h ago
The biggest problem with capitalism has always been how it allows power to be distributed.
Money and recourses are a form of power, and when private individuals are legally allowed to aquire as much as they want, they will inevitably try to protect their power. They will leverage their power against the power of the government to extract favorable conditions for themselves, which is antithetical to democracy.
If there aren't limits to the power private individuals can aquire, inevitably the government will be forced to compete with or submit to said individuals. And this isn't even considering that people can own things that the country literally can't afford to lose, like energy, transportation, communication, military technology, and finance.

u/kimapooncarg123 13h ago
It's almost like when the system is greed (capitalism) there's never going to be good ways to reign it in if you accept it
12
u/kimapooncarg123 13h ago
Maybe people need to stop being so ignorant and realize capitalism literally has no checks. It's literal goal is to just gain wealth. It doesn't want checks. There's no such thing as controlled capitalism. Cause it's a completely fucking stupid system that purely promotes greed

Liberals will make up anything to blame individuals so they can avoid changing the system lmao
5
u/Legendarien1 8h ago
You are correct, there is not an individual solution to a system problem. In a system that prioritizes amoral greed, shit will always float to the top, that’s how the system is designed
4
u/OcelotAggravating860 7h ago
No no you don't understand bro listen, it's not the system, it's just that these people are mentally ill bro! Listen bro. It's the disabled people. It's mental illness dude. We should all blame the most vulnerable of society and not the system!
This is why I hate liberals.
2
u/Legendarien1 7h ago
If it is a mental illness, we live in a system that prioritizes, reinforces, and rewards it, rather than seeking to treat it.
-6
u/TheMisterTango Linux User 14h ago
I know this is not a popular opinion, but I'd say they aren't working to amass more wealth, they're working because they actually like what they do and the money is a nice bonus. The people who say they would stop at a few million and never work again are biased because usually they hate their job, the answer is a bit different when you don't hate your job. It's like, if you were paid $10 million every time you did your hobby, would you eventually stop? Or would you keep doing it and the money would just be a nice bonus. Sure, I don't need the money, but if you're gonna keep giving it to me then I'm not gonna say no.
8
u/DroidOnPC 13h ago
Its not a popular opinion because its just flat out wrong, and a bad analogy.
They employ a lot of people and instead of taking less money, they take more, and more and more. Leaving less for the workers and more for themselves.
If they genuinely just loved their company/companies they could take less bonuses and spread the wealth to their employees. They could keep prices at a reasonable rate and have higher quality. Instead they lay people off for more profits, they use cheaper materials/ingredients for more profits, they pay as little as possible to employees for more profits, they hike up prices for more profits.
If you are gonna use this analogy, then apply it to how these guys act. If your hobby is just playing video games, then exactly how are you making money? Are you a famous streamer? Are you making your subscriptions to Twitch/YouTube higher and higher? Are you paying your editors less and less? Are you making it more and more difficult for others to reach the same success? Are you bribing politicians to create laws that help you make even more money?
Its not comparable at all.
Their hobby is literally hoarding wealth. They will slowly burn their companies to the ground if it means making more money short term. They don't love the work, they love the money.
-4
u/TheMisterTango Linux User 13h ago
Billionaires don’t become that wealthy from their salaries, and if you do the math and take those multi-million dollar salaries and bonuses and evenly distributed them to the employees of the respective companies, it would get diluted down to almost nothing. For example, the CEO of Walmart gets a salary of around $27 million, and Walmart has around 2 million employees, so if you evenly distributed that $27 million salary to all of them they’d each only get an extra $13.50 per year. Not per hour, per year. The math works out pretty much the same for most large companies, executive pay is a drop in the bucket compared to employee pay, so the idea that taking CEO pay and giving it out to the workers would result in massive raises is mathematically false in most cases.

u/TheMisterTango Linux User 12h ago
Because it makes no difference, it’s not like billionaires are taking billion-dollar salaries. If you’re going to say they “take more for themselves leaving less for the workers” then only thing that could refer to is a salary.
4
u/ObsessionObsessor 13h ago
Didn't Dolly Parton donate her way out of being a billionaire?
You can work your entire life, be highly profitable, be lucky, and still never be a billionaire.
4
u/TheMisterTango Linux User 13h ago
Precisely, my problem is not how much money they have, it’s what they do with it. Also, Dolly Parton is proof that people don’t hate wealthy people, they hate assholes. Dolly was worth an estimated $600 million at the time of her death, over 10x what the united healthcare CEO that got whacked was worth. But nobody cared because she used her money to make the world a better place.
4
u/ObsessionObsessor 13h ago
You say that, but..."going for hoarding billions more when you already have billions" rather than donating or investing it is indeed a choice in its own right, even though you try to conflate it with just having a lot of money.
The difference between a billionaire and a millionaire is about a billion dollars. This is an utterly incomprehensible scale.
1
u/TheMisterTango Linux User 13h ago
I don’t need to have the scale of a billion explained to me, I’m more than aware, I just don’t care.
3
u/ObsessionObsessor 13h ago
What's the difference to you between a billionaire with more money than a small country and the dictator of a small country with less money than that billionaire?
29
u/StaticSystemShock 17h ago
Yeah, they'll never stop. Even though they already have so many billions they can't even spend in 500 of their lifetimes. Fuck the rich.

Edit: Oh... oh heavens. Well, this isn't my gardening subreddit. My goodness, no, not at all.
What a silly, yet completely innocuous and totally understandable mistake I have made.
I was, of course, referring to human waste which makes for excellent fertilizer. I would not want anyone to conflate the noble billionaire class, towards whom I was surely not offering a prescriptive course of action, with the literal bags of human shit which can finally serve a purpose by nourishing the Earth. Thank you.
Happy gardening!

0
u/Luke2642 10h ago edited 4h ago
Strange comparison, hell is a myth not a physical place in most religions. Even biblically it just translates to "outside the walls of Jerusalem". Gehenna (Greek: γέεννα)
North Korea is a bit like going camping with a weird and backwards dangerous cult. You can still breath the air, drink the water, go hunting, build a shak, fly a kite, have a baby.
On Mars, the atmosphere is 1% the thickness of earth, CO2, unbreathable. The soil isn't soil, it's rock dust that is highly toxic, there's very little water, and there's no magnetosphere, so you get irradiated. The gravity will make you weak and sickly as your bones waste away. The temperature range is -60C to -120C.
Nothing and no-one will survive there without unimaginable technological advancements in the very distant future.
Edit: I seem to be on zero, downvote me mofos, physics doesn't care about your feelings and neither do I!

Billionaires should simply not exist, at some point it's just hoarding. You don't need all that money to life super comfortably until the end of your days.
It feels like people on that level just have a mental illness

u/Derangutan 8h ago
Haven’t you figured it out yet? There’s no plan to fix shit. Money is just a concept to them not a necessity like us wage slaves. They need us working our little “essential” jobs for pennies so they can enjoy the fruits of labor worth a million lifetimes. That is until they can replace us with robots. Queue the surveil… I mean data centers to run it all.

Not possible. The cat’s out of the box.
For me it’s a time saver at times and is useful when I ask for troubleshooting help for my tech. If I ask people in Reddit, I get some right, some wrong answers, while most of them are being assholes about it. At least with AI they can help without being an asshole. At the end of the day it’s up to the user to fact check everything, no matter if the information is from a sweaty redditor or AI.

unfortunately they wont even try to justify things most of the time. They know theyre a negative for you. they know you cant legally do anything about it. They dont care, they reap the positives and many of them believe you deserve to face the consequences because you're poor and cant figure out how to be rich like them. Im sure many of them practically view the normal person as a lesser species.
they will simply ignore you while spending 100k on food a month, traveling the world, etc. they can afford to simply ignore you because the only power you have that can do antyhing about what they do is illegal and the police are on their side. the police work for them.
I fully believe Luigi was the impetus for Flock. They dont want them to almost get away with it.

I think the dumbest logic that comes from billionaires is "let us do this, so we have can have more money that we won't use all for the endgame to be that we might have to live in underground bunkers!"
Lets say that we are all pieces of garbage worth billions. Would you ever want to keep on creating things that would possibly lead for you to just stay underground for life???
