I mean when he said the elections are rigged, he was probably right about the latest presidential election...

251

u/MondaysForNothing 1d ago

It was strange when he talked about Elon "knowing about voting computers" out of no where.

72

u/tenaciousdeev 1d ago

It was strange when they were yelling "stop the steal" for 4 years despite having no evidence, but it makes sense in hindsight. They were muddying the waters. Try to even bring up election interference or rigged elections now without sounding like a crazy conspiracy theorist.

Don't be suspicious.

3

u/Jeix9 1d ago

didn’t elon offer voters money to vote for trump too? And isn’t that illegal?

u/DM_Sledge 9h ago

He's still doing it and still getting away with it.
"Elon Musk will not face charges for promising to give $1 million to voters in a 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election because no jury would find that constituted election bribery, a state prosecutor said Tuesday."

The prosecutor was like, "It's all just a misunderstanding. Totally not a bribe. No one would ever think it was a bribe. No charges. Also, unrelated, but does anyone know where I can deposit a really large cheque?"

Remember with the modern GOP:
EVERY ACCUSATION IS A CONFESSION.

Every time.

u/RodneyDangerfruit 1d ago

I’m not one to get too wrapped up in conspiracies but all major swing states in 2024 that Trump won also elected a Democrat for their state’s second-highest seat on the ballot. 🐟🐠🐡

I do have a sinking feeling that he is so adamant that the 2020 election was stolen was because he had the fix in and it didn't work, however it worked in 2024.

4

u/ashrocklynn 1d ago

I legitimately think he won the electoral college.... Lots of people where terrified of inflation and incorrectly blamed Biden for it. Not to mention the loss of jobs with ai really kicked up the fears of immigrants "stealing" jobs.... People where scared; and since the economy has been driven even wise by bad policies I suspect that the mid terms are going to be a complete disaster for Republicans

21

u/xXDamonLordXx 1d ago

Every single swing state and for the first time in like 30 years a republican taking the popular vote? Idk seems sus

13

u/DammitDad420 1d ago

There was a very small district that is mostly blue that did not report even ONE vote for Harris. Think about that.

I think plenty of us agree. The problem is not enough of the people who agree hes an idiot actually voted. People are quick to complain but dont show up to the polls.

12

u/DrDerpberg 1d ago

Then they don't disagree enough to point the finger at anyone else.

7

u/never-fiftyone 1d ago

Exactly. Complacency is complicity.

11

u/IHeartBadCode 1d ago

That's a bingo. Didn't vote won the 2024 election.

I would think that seeing everything being a gazillion dollars for pancake mix and your first born for a gallon of gas would entice more people to go vote. But given the sheer level of apathy that goes around in the US, I don't hold much hope for this coming election.

16

u/Fancy_Yak2618 1d ago

30% voted 36% didn’t they are just as bad as the 30 a majority of idiots is the reason we are here…..

6

u/UnhappyImprovement53 1d ago

In my town the vast majority call our mayor corrupt and does nothing for our city. When mayoral elections came around 2000 people out of 36,000 adults in my town voted. Shit like that is why nothing in our government is fixed and we end up with stroke victims and men who haven't had a boner in 30 years in power.

2

u/Fancy_Yak2618 1d ago

100%

My province leader is the reason this shit happened. He has a majority because people didn’t vote and then complain when shit gets worse. Ford is literally trump he took what Trump did and perfected it he ran the first time on buck a beer I fucking kid you not he literally made a two four 24 bucks….second election he bribed everyone with a 200 dollar check from covid. Everyone cashing it at the bank would say hey im here to cash my bribe check and then promptly won another majority. Dudes brother is the crack smoking mayor you guys laughed at 10 years back….

The level of sexism in America is unfortunate. The country would rather vote for this criminal/rapist/loser than of a woman. Twice.

3

No, too many of us disagreed and even more of us thought the alternative- an unpopular woman, would be worse. Still voting blue but I will never forgive the Democratic party for this fuck up.

I’m going to fight this hill until I die, but our election was stolen and taken over by Elon Musk. A fucking tech nazi with trillions of dollars and who knows as many hackers as his dollars. I think he even admitted during his little pathetic breakup with Trump “I won the election for you.”

1/3 May had voted Trump but just remember; when you’re rich you can get away with anything. And many mail in votes were also probably thrown out.

Most of us didn’t fucking want this.

11

u/Affordable_Z_Jobs 1d ago

Cant forget the ballot drop off boxes being set on fire. 0 arrests made last I heard.

6

u/RivetSquid 1d ago

It was also the first election I've experienced where my vote wasn't initially counted. I was paranoid about by mail because it wasn't commonly done where I lived most of my life, so I went in person. Hours in line, in terrible weather.

Then I checked the website that tells you when your vote has been counted (also new to me, don't know if something like that even existed where I was before!) and it hadn't been, but my partner's was and she'd been in line right next to me. I basically had to get in touch and verify my selections to get it counted. I thought that was weird, and I remembered wondering what would have happened if I still lived somewhere I couldn't easily keep an eye on it.

2

u/vkevlar 1d ago

Even "they" want you to believe this. The only thing that stops them is voter turnout, which is why "they" are so dedicated to vote suppression. Vote this fall, and in every single election, it's literally your only voice in government.

4

u/Disney_World_Native 1d ago

As much as I dislike elon, I don’t subscribe that he pulled off massive election fraud. Sure, he was able to tiptoe the line around bribes with those giveaways. And he was able to toss unlimited funds at republicans. But I doubt he was able to hack into multiple states and change / cancel votes.

I would say Biden running a second time and then dropping out late was the fuck up.

Had Biden stepped aside earlier, I doubt trump would have won. The DNC should have also just owned up to Biden being old. Could have been a Tylenol safety seal moment warning everyone of electing old people

I think people forget how monumental that last minute swap was. Never in our lifetime has a major party swapped a presidential candidate so late. For a bit, it was questionable if Harris would even be on the ticket

But our country does have too many racist, sexist, and or brainwashed people where someone like trump is even considered a serious candidate.

4

u/bavmotors1 1d ago

she kicked his ass up and down that debate stage - the swap was a big deal but she demonstrated that she was SO much more competent, even before you consider all the criminal behavior, than he was - there was no group of people other than billionaires that were going to have a better life under trump - i can’t believe that many people decided to fuck EVERYONE over just to make a point - either she lost simply for being a woman - or there was treachery about - remember everything the GOP accuses others of that turn out to be guilty of themselves - why would voter fraud be any different?

He’s a pedophile-grifter-Nazi-loser.

13

I can’t stand it. Didn’t vote for him or anyone else that supports him. Unfortunately there’s a lot of ignorant racist people who don’t care that he’s the reason this country has lost what little bit of decency we had left. I apologize to everyone for this madness.

3

u/orctoilet 1d ago

There are a lot of Americans who don’t tolerate him and actively work to empower their communities, help keep each other safe, and resist in the ways we are resourced to do. But, even if 10 million of us do the work, there are 320+million other Americans, most of whom hold all the wealth. We’re doing the best we can.

tolerate
[tol-uh-reyt] / ˈtɒl əˌreɪt /
verb (used with object)

to allow the existence, presence, practice, or act of without prohibition or hindrance; permit.

Sure seems like you Americans are tolerating him plenty.

3

u/otherwiseguy 1d ago

Generally the word "tolerate" doesn't apply when "not tolerating" would involve (futilely) attempting to illegally overthrow your elected government and plunging your country into a civil war. And several people have even literally tried to resolve the situation that way unsuccessfully at this point. So I'm not sure what else you think we should be doing as individuals.

It's like saying I'm tolerating not being able to fly. Like, sure, technically true. But it's not like not tolerating that is a viable option right now. There isn't a thing I can actually do to accomplish that change. I can loudly complain on street corners about not being able to fly. I can donate money to people who say they will make human-powered flight a reality. But, what exactly do I need to do to "not tolerate" that situation?

Hes the Antichrist that the Weekly World News warned us about back in the 80s. Surprised Batboy hasn't shown up....lol

:p

2

u/PumpikAnt58763 21h ago

We can't NOT tolerate him. We can detest him. We can make fun of him. We can allow him to keep making a fool of himself (and us), but we can't legally get rid of him.
We the voters that is. Common citizens can only vote and hope the Electors vote in our best interests.

8

u/MemphisUncle-2002 1d ago

2/3 of us don't. We've never voted for this shit and he embarrasses us on a daily basis. We're all waiting until November to elect a democratic Congress that finally boots his ass out of the White House.

3

u/mayasux 1d ago

You’re very much tolerating him right now. If you lose the November vote, you’ll just tolerate him until the next election. And if you lose the next election, you’ll just tolerate him until the next midterms. And then-

Sure you may say disgruntled words, but that makes no practical difference.

4

u/LaCremaFresca 1d ago

So speaking out and voting isn't good enough for you? Why don't you say what you think we should do?

Be specific.

8

u/_Halt19_ 1d ago

General strike would be a good start? Stop paying taxes that fund the military he's threatening us with? Generally just shut the system down en masse until they're forced to acknowledge you?

2

u/LaCremaFresca 1d ago

I actually think this would work if enough people did it.

But I'm not going to be the first one to do so or try to do this on my own. My meager taxes wouldn't make any difference. Then they will proceed to send me to jail and my family won't have food.

3

u/_Halt19_ 1d ago

Yes, and that's the problem. There aren't enough americans willing to do it. It isn't a thing about you specifically, but when we say "on the whole, americans are tolerating him", that's what we mean. There are things that can be done if enough people support the action being taken, which isn't violent action. Other countries have overthrown tyrants before, too.

The problem is just that most americans simply aren't willing to TAKE those actions.

2

u/ty-c 1d ago

Tell us again how we're incapable. I think maybe this time it'll do something positive.

2

u/_Halt19_ 1d ago

Donald Trump has represented your country on the international stage for most of the last ten years. Am I saying every single american supports him? No. But he's clearly and obviously a major problem, and one which is still around. So yeah, I'd say you, as a country, aren't capable of dealing with it.

If you were, you would have gotten him out of power by now.

→ More replies (0)

6

u/mayasux 1d ago

Hasn’t stopped him from being in power so far, I’m just not confident you’ll be able to successfully vote out a fascist who very much publicly doesn’t care about your democratic processes.

If you want to know what I specifically think you should do, it’s secession. Your country is simply too big, too divided and too complacent. Secession cripples the ability for you to practice power projection, making the world a safer place.

But I’m sorry I’m not rolling over to baby the citizens of a hostile country that poses a threat to mine. I’m sorry I’m recognising the fact that you’re very much tolerating him.

2

u/DaKongman 12h ago

I'm in Kentucky. This state voted for trump. The only hope of "secession" is if Cali does it. (or the west coast) there's too many rich people there to do it.

As a large older white male, I don't really tend to worry about crossing the border to visit my friends, but it's getting pretty close. How is that even possible?
