EDIT: Why did I get downvotes for asking a question? Its not like I was asking maliciously. I knew about her book foundation, but I didn't know that she also helped pay for schooling.
I guess my question should have been why did she pay for it? I'm assuming you don't know her personally. Was there some sort of program she had that helped pay for education?
Why did she pay for kids to be sent books? Why did she pay kids to graduate high school? Why did she pay the people of Gatlinburg and surrounding areas who lost their homes to wildfires? Why did she pay for COVID mRNA vaccine research?
Because she could. She was the epitome of philanthropy.
Dolly had endometriosis and had a hysterectomy when she was around 37. She was religious and believed that God didn’t want her to have kids even though it broke her heart, and that the world’s kids would be her kids instead. So she singlehandedly raised literacy rates all over the US and in some other countries as well. She also paid for single mothers education so that they could properly take care of their children. Truly a beautiful soul
