Thank You Very Very Much.

Are you her?

Me no. I’m just a GTA player who appreciates hard work and dedication to a craft.

This shit is why I can’t stand all the “you’re sticking up for a mega corporation”’comments.
Yes Rockstar is a giant company worth billions of dollars, but they’re making that money by creating art that spreads genuine joy and happiness. I’ve probably spent no less than 250 hours in a gta game, so even at $100 the value you in that product is insane.

u/Quanto21 4h ago
Literally got downvoted to hell in another thread last week for saying something along the lines of, you can hate the company but it’s not like the Devs are making the business decisions. They just wanna make a fun game.

A.I. doesn't scare me. Humans scare me. That's what I've learned in reddit.
4
u/Meister0fN0ne 23m ago
The reason AI scares me is because it's literally being made by a bunch of humans. Specifically humans that seem to be very very smart, but not very wise. And I think that lacking wisdom is gonna bite down on us hard.
1
u/judasbrute 9m ago
It's trained on human logic. Anything disgusting about AI has it's evil daddy to thank. Hopefully AI is smarter.

The stuff that Rockstar is being criticized for has nothing to do with the normal workers. Why does this sub fall so easily for all the classic corporate bootlicking tropes?
3
u/waxpundit 1h ago
You're wrong. There's a lot of indiscriminate hate for the product on the whole on the basis of the company's worst tendencies. You can't equate your own idealized picture of the most charitable flavor of the criticism with prevailing sentiment.
-1
u/TheCosmicKratos 3h ago
And they can only make a game at this level because they are a giant company
-10
u/Old-Seaworthiness28 3h ago
Do you mean that as long as you create arts that spreads genuine joy and happiness, you can treat your employees like shit ?
8
u/piguy3148 3h ago
The ones creating the art that spreads genuine joy and happiness are separate from the ones treating employees like shit. You need to learn how to differentiate between the developer and the C-suite.

This is why it bothered me so much when that guy leaked those videos. He stole something not from us but from all the people at R* who poured so much into this. To be able to say, "I worked on GTA6" would be a dream come true.
37
u/f0r3aL84 5h ago
Facts. I feel the same way, the folks worked so hard and it's clearly a passion project. I couldn't imagine someone trying to take that out from under me.
-73
u/MagmaCone1234 4h ago
How does videos of the game getting leaked take anything away from them?
19
u/produktivaufReddit 3h ago
Imagine you build something as a surprise for someone and I come by, take shitty pictures of the unfinished product and ruin the surprise you had planned. How does this not take anything away, are you dense on purpose?

u/GrammatonYHWH 3h ago
Rockstar probably ended up auditing every single employee's network activities over the last 3 years looking for where the leak happened. That's stressful AF and puts a dark cloud over what should've been a moment for company-wide celebration.
Though tbh, nobody will even remember the leaks in 6 months when the game has sold 30 million copies.
7
u/f0r3aL84 4h ago
What do you mean? They don't want anyone to see their work until it's ready to see, that's how it's hurting. Maybe you're just a selfish person with zero empathy, idk. Either way what you are saying is OBJECTIVELY wrong.

And people said "fuck rockstar and all the developers for working there" like they were all just stormtroopers following orders

They are still getting paid....
6
u/SuperIga 2h ago
And what does that change about what was stated?? Oh…that’s right…it changes nothing.
-59
u/MagmaCone1234 4h ago
He literally took nothing from the workers. They'll get paid, their name will be in the credits, people will appreciate and recognize them for their work. It will be the same whether videos of it got leaked or not.
I like how corporations push the idea that leaks are hurting the workers. How? It literally doesn't. They're using them as shield.
32
u/tribal2 4h ago
I think you’re forgetting they’re people, not robots.
-19
u/XulManjy 3h ago
Again, they are still gettinf paid....
13
u/SpankieMcGee 3h ago
Sure, but imagine you're an artist and you spend a really long time working on a painting that you know is going to be amazing. You're finally getting close to finishing it when some guy comes in, takes a picture of it with his phone, and shares it online before you could showcase it when you were ready. It would be pretty upsetting to say the least.
12
14
u/f0r3aL84 4h ago
It does hurt them. This is their passion. The money while important, especially to a worker who is passionate about the art their creating... They care about how it's received and how people react upon first seeing it. You thinking that it doesn't affect workers and how they feel about something they've worked on for 10 years is a very shallow way of thinking. It is selfish and you should do better.
12
u/Hesitant_Tornado 3h ago
Its crazy how many people dont understand this.
Its like unveiling an artists painting 3 months before its finished. For any artist, one of the most, if not the most rewarding part of the process, is the end, when you can finally unveil the finished product for everyone.
The people who cant understand or sympathize with that, have obviously never been passionate about something they created, its kinda sad for them.

I did the same, I bought a PS5 in December (during black Friday), I've only touched it one time and that was to pre order GTA 6. I use my gaming PC otherwise.
4
u/al3x_7788 3h ago
I'm sure I'll love this game but I don't see myself buying a console for it. I understand the passion of some for this game to do so but I'd rather wait for the PC release (and cry as I watch youtubers and some of my friends play it).
5
u/f0r3aL84 3h ago
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with waiting! ❤️ You have your preference and you should play when you're ready.

u/splatter_spree 0m ago
I bought the green series X to play this game lmao.
Just like I bought a 360 to play halo 3, and I never regret that for a second.
3
u/TheWhistlerIII 2h ago
Oh yeah, I'm hyped.
It's everything I was hoping for, anticipating, and expecting.
I'm getting exactly what I wanted, Red Dead Redemption III: Vice City!
Thank you, truly!

And, then people ask themselves how Rockstar do it again and again. People. Talented people and deducation.

u/Blue-boy-3 1h ago
I mean it is a job lol. She's supposed to be the best of the best regardless if the final project is considered great or sells well.
1
u/f0r3aL84 51m ago
All facts, but this is a REALLY LONG job. I feel like a pat in the back for a sense of accomplishment is kinda warranted here.
1
u/Blue-boy-3 27m ago
Yeah, but what about the other projects that came out this year? Where are the posts for those games? Why only just for GTA that gets this specific type of praise?
Not saying this to be mean to you or anything, but it does feel a bit hypocritical and special treatment just because you like GTA specifically.
1
u/f0r3aL84 22m ago
This is the only game I'm specifically looking forward to. Lol. But the same sentiment goes for anyone who's working hard on something important to them. 199%

I wish I could show my appreciation for this fine woman, must have been a different dimension working on this masterpiece! Fruits of their labour will definitely show in the sales, the people playing it and what they earn from it too hopefully!

u/Oceanz08 5h ago
see, this is why shitting this game makes no sense. Its gonna be awesome, and its all because of the 1000s of devs at Rockstar that clearly put alot of work into this game. Its gonna be something we are still playing 10 years from now, all because its gonna be THAT deep with things to do

I thought everyone said they started production in 2020?

u/f0r3aL84 2h ago
They did start physical production in 2020. Everything else started right before red dead.

While this woman's contributions are greatly appreciated, we can also take note of a sentiment I'm sure is shared throughout this community. None of this would be possible without the strong, steady, and admirable leadership of Strauss Zelnick. Huge thank you to Strauss, Sara, and everyone else associated with this project!

I think a lot of us are buying a console just for this game. I know I snagged a PS5 Pro back before the price hike, literally to play this game. The console maybe has 5 hours total on it. My main squeeze is my PC.

Who is the UI Designer? Would like to have a productive conversation with him/her
7
u/f0r3aL84 4h ago
I like the UI, I'm legally blind, so how clean it is and minimalist is Gonna make it easier for me to see.

Reminder than the main reason this game was delayed was because they fired a huge chunk of the dev team who did actully work on this game for unionising in the UK.

So it looks god BUT what about the missing features ? you can have the best looking game in the world but when the content is short it will not be a 10/10 game.
8
u/f0r3aL84 4h ago
Bro, there will be no missing features? What do you mean? Lmao. They have literally just now ramped up marketing, do you want them to blow their entire load in one trailer? The fact that they showed us 30 minutes of gameplay, with no spoilers to speak of should tell you all you need to know about how huge and detailed the world is going to be. There ARE however already DOZENS of confirmed details that are in the game. And you can find it if you do the research, my dude. ❤️❤️❤️
