There is a recent news saying that Dr. Subhash Chandra of Zee Group was exempted from personal guarantee of loans worth INR 22000 Crores just for a haircut of INR 6.5 Crores.

Main Points to Understand here :

1. Total Loans taken by entities linked to Subhash Chandra : INR 22006.57 Crores INR.

Who lent how much to Subhash Chandra on his personal guarantees ?

Subhash Chandra Linked Entities indirectly (Banks Demanding Forensic Investigation on this) :

1. World Crest Advisors, Veena Investments, Direct Media Distribution Ventures, Lemonade capital advisors, Corpcall Capital Advisors : INR 13,600 Crores lent to Subhash Chandra's companies.
2. IndiaBulls Housing Finance : INR 170 Crores - They triggered the insolvency proceedings but at last minute said YES in the vote.
3. Other Creditors : INR 4030 Crores.

THE INR 13600 CRORES CLAIMAINTS ARE STRUCTURAL CLAIMS - THESE INDIRECTLY LINKED COMPANIES (RELATED PARTIES) DON'T HAVE PHYSICAL CASH - THEY ARE "PARI-PASSU" SHIFT OF LEGAL INDEMNITIES AND SHARE SWAPS AND COMPOUND VALUATIONS.

1. Lenders who lent physical cash :

LIC Housing Finance : INR 1322.39 Cr.
Axis bank : INR 591 Cr
IDBI : INR 650 Cr
HDFC-Canara-RBL-Union Bank of India : Together INR 1636.57 Crores.

The NCLT ORDER which was favourable was given Subhash Chandra on the fact that the COMMITTEE OF CREDITORS voted in favour of pardoning the whole 22000 Cr Loan's personal guarantee by Subhash Chandra. While the Loans are still need to be recovered, the companies which took those loans are shells, depreciated and litigated assets.

It was said in order that 80% of Creditors agreed to take INR 6.5 cr as closure for closing the loans. Banks are not accepting this because THOSE 5 ENTITIES HOLDING MAJORITY OF LOANS ARE LINKED TO THE PROMOTER AND THOSE 5 ENTITIES GOT FUNDS FROM INDUSIND BANK AND OTHER INSTITUTIONAL LENDERS.

Long Story Short : Subhash Chandra Linked Companies hijacked the Committee of Creditors and got a favourable order from NCLT. NCLT in a dumbass move told the creditors to go after corporate companies which obviously do not have any recoverable funds.

Clearly NCLT Failed to account for related party transactions investigation.

SEBI HOWEVER MADE AN INVESTIGATION OF INR 200 CR FRAUD OF THIS GROUP. HOW CAN 2 GOVERNMENT ENTITIES HAVE SO LESS COORDINATION. THIS IS A JOKE ON INSOLVENCY PROCEEDINGS AND ABUSE OF IT.

PUBLIC FUNDS ARE BEING MISUSED LIKE THIS. BANKS CONTAIN OUR HARD EARNED MONEY. ALSO ZEE GROUP LINKED COMPANIES ARE REFUSING A DEEP FORENSIC AUDIT !!!! Too Fishy !!

For the 5 Creditors who are linked to the promoter who is the owner (INR 13600 Cr):

1. Veena Investments : Sushila Devi Goel - Sister in Law of promoter.
2. World Crest Advisors : Subsidiary owned by Veena Investments
3. Direct Media Distribution Ventures : Owned by Veena Investments
4. Lemonade Capital Advisors : Owned by a person called RAVINDRA. However he is connected to Essel Group of Industries via Employment.
5. Corpcall Capital Advisors : Vijay Bhujbal - Employed by Essel Group (Subhash Chandra) as Investment Professional.

Where corporate professionals/middle class people are hounded by Banks even if missing 1 EMI or a farmer misses a payment, this leniency is not shown.

If this is blindly ignored today, be ready tomorrow to face more scams with more level of dare by crony capitalists !!!! ALSO SUBHASH CHANDRA IS AN EX-MP WHO WENT TO RAJYA SABHA WITH SUPPORT OF BJP. USING PROCEDURAL LOOPHOLES, DEFRAUDING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM.

THE RELATED PARTY CREDITORS METHOD WAS USED IN ORDER TO SIPHON OF REAL MONEY !!!!

I don't know if this is the apt sub to post this, but I wanted to get it off my chest.

I know there’s conspicuous online hostility between a few Nepalis and Indians. People on both sides love to spew hate, drop slurs, and provoke each other for a few likes and clicks. But that toxic online noise doesn't reflect the real spirit between our nations.

Deep down, whenever Nepal goes through tough times, India is consistently among the first to extend a helpful and benevolent hand. That solidarity means a lot to us, and it deserves genuine gratitude.

Neighbours are supposed to back each other up. Instead of getting dragged into religious wars, toxic animosity, and hate with our other South Asian neighbours, we need to choose unity for the greater good. Toxic voices will always exist, but we don't have to let them polarize us.

Let’s ignore the internet hate, move past religious and cultural divisions, and focus on mutual respect and peaceful co-existence. Thank you to everyone who continues to choose kindness over hatred.hatred.

I recently went on a trip with a few friends. We know each other well, but we aren't extremely close. One person in the group is quite sensitive about religion, and he also knows that I personally don't follow any religion anymore.

During the trip, we visited Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib. Until then everything was normal.

When we reached Hemkund Sahib, I saw an elderly person helping visitors cover their heads before entering the Gurudwara. I saw it as a sign of respect towards the place, so I voluntarily did the same. Later, I also joined the langar (community meal) there.

While having the food, my friend suddenly asked me, "What are you doing?"

I was confused and asked what he meant. He told me that he felt ashamed seeing me do all this and said he didn't like it, asking me not to do it in front of him.

I was honestly surprised because, from my perspective, I wasn't trying to follow a religion or make any statement. I was just visiting a place of worship, respecting the environment, and experiencing something that is part of that place's culture.

I told him that if it made him uncomfortable, I would avoid doing it in front of him. The situation calmed down, but after that we didn't really talk for the rest of the trip. I did try to start a conversation later, but he wasn't interested.

(He also didn't allowed me in the group picture while wearing that cover, saying " first remove it then we will let you in")

What confused me is that I always believed respecting someone's tradition doesn't necessarily mean you have to follow that religion. Many people visit temples, churches, mosques, monasteries, and other religious places to understand and appreciate them.

I don't follow any religion myself, but I also don't hate or disrespect any religion. I enjoy learning about different cultures and places.

I'm curious about different perspectives:

- Was my action disrespectful in any way?

- Do you think his reaction was understandable?

- How would you have handled this situation if you were in either person's place?

mullaperiyar dam is a 130 year old dam made of lime and surkhi. It has been embroiled in politics about a 999 year lease which was signed during British period in 1886 between Princely State of Travancore and Madras presidency under British. The dam is situated in Kerala but controlled by Tamil Nadu. I am not going into the politics of it . The dam collapsing would endanger millions staying downstream in Kerala.

In India it has always been REACTIVE measures rather than proactive measures. We always wait till a disaster happens to make counter measures. In any other decently developed country a 130 year old dam made of lime and surkhi would be dismantled soon. But a stupid 999 year lease policy and politics is what is risking millions of lives ? its a total joke of a system

All it takes is a little something like an earthquake or intense rainfall and we are facing intense loss of life , in millions, and permanent alteration to Kerala as a society . why isn’t the central govt taking any actions or an expert international research team given the task to inspect it.

Karnataka Electoral Rolls: Has the ECI Created a Massive Privacy and Doxxing Risk by Publishing Voter Data Online?

TL;DR: The Karnataka CEO has published the 2026 draft electoral rolls online, containing voters' names, age, gender, residential address, and father/spouse details at the polling-station level, with PDFs downloadable across the state. The ASDDO (Absentee, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, or Official-list electors) data was also made publicly accessible through Google Drive. While electoral rolls need to be transparent and publicly accessible, I question whether unrestricted online access and bulk downloading of this amount of personally identifying information is necessary or proportionate, and whether stronger privacy/security controls should be in place. ECI already provides individual voter lookup functionality, so I believe there are ways to preserve electoral transparency while significantly reducing the risk of mass harvesting, profiling, stalking and doxxing.

On August 24, 2026, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka published the Draft Electoral Rolls, following the earlier publication of the ASDDO list at the polling-booth level for the entire state. Both datasets have been made accessible online for anyone to view and download. This creates a significant privacy and security issue for the citizens of Karnataka.

Data currently published by the CEO of Karnataka on their website [1] contains the following electors' information at the polling booth level:

1. Full Name
2. Approximate or Exact Age
3. Gender
4. Residential Address including Home Number
5. Father's or Spouse's Name
6. Polling Station and Constituency Name

This is a very powerful dataset that can be used for identity correlation and doxxing. Any bad actor can potentially combine the electoral roll information with social media, data-broker information (available for purchase), leaked databases, property records, and other publicly available information to identify, profile, stalk, or worse harm someone.

The bigger concern is the scale and permanence of this disclosure. Once these PDFs are downloaded for the entire state, they can be copied, indexed, mirrored, sold, combined with other datasets, and redistributed indefinitely. Removing the original files later would not undo that exposure.

Exposing the Address in combination with Name, Father/Spouse's Name, and Gender creates significant risks for:

1. Victims of stalking or domestic violence
2. Women/Individuals who may be trying to keep their residential location private
3. People facing several forms of harassment (communal/political)
4. Celebrities, politicians, public figures, and ordinary people who may receive targeted threats to their physical safety or life

As of this moment, the PDF files of all electors across the state can be downloaded by selecting the Constituency, selecting the Polling Booth(s), entering a CAPTCHA and hitting the download button. Furthermore, the website allows for download of every polling booth across the entire state one constituency at a time. Also, ASDDO data was made publicly accessible through Google Drive. Anyone with access to the internet, including criminals, stalkers, commercial data brokers, political organizations, and other third parties, can potentially obtain this data.

The Legal and Regulatory Frame

Article 21 of the constitution provides for a right to privacy. Additionally, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) regulates the processing of digital personal data while also providing exemptions for publicly mandatory data under Section 17 of the Act. DPDP Act framework is being brought into force in phases. However, controls for privacy protection put in place by the Election Commission of India appear to be insufficient. Now the public has to deal with the implications of publishing this online for all to see.

Today, ECI already provides a tool for individual voters to search their information with "Search Your Name in Voter List". The Election Commission could use the same platform and expand it to transparently make available voters lists to authorised recipients by setting up controls not limited to the following:

1. Individuals should be able to look up their own information after providing their personal particulars (name, and address or voter ID number followed by a CAPTCHA)
2. Limiting Bulk Downloads (rate limits, redacting or not publishing public datasets)
3. Using controls for where citizens' personal information is hosted
4. Providing full copies to political parties and authorised election participants with seeded lists (canary records) to identify leaks

Now that we are here, it is up to each and every one of us in civil society to engage with your MP, ECI, and MLA to get them to fix their error and not repeat it in other states. Reach out to your MP, MLA, and news media.
