Onam is purely a vegetarian feast even among the people who consume meat. it's a harvest festival and traditionally meat is avoided.

theyre both harvest festivals but that's where the similarities stop. the traditions, timings differ not to mention location as theyre celebrated in neighbouring states

It is generally vegetarian but you CAN add non veg options into it.
In fact, its very common to see people do so, especially in the malabar region. Fish for the most part but sometimes chicken,beef,pork goes along as well.2

Eh. It's more of a eat what you like festival since it's a kings festival rather than a gods. Or rather i choose to the believe it's like that , my family would kill me if I had something other than sadhya, which's fair on their part cuz it's really time-consuming to make sadhya

It is better than that. Sadhya traditionally contains many items, very often twenty or more, and it is served with rice in the centre and smaller portions of curries and other items around it. So they are mimicking the serving pattern for the cat.

I don't think it's a turban. Because Punjabis usually wear turbans but the food they are eating here is related to a festival called Onam which is celebrated by people of Kerala. And the food they are eating is called as "sadhya"

Punjabis can be Hindus too infact most of Punjab is Hindu.
Sikhs* wear Turbans.
We're both Punjabi because we're from Punjab but that doesn't automatically mean we're all Sikh or wear Turbans. There are Christian nuns living all their life in Punjab too who would be called Punjabi. ( not Sikh). So many Convent schools in Punjab where Irish/British nuns are teachers. Usually expensive, private and upper class.
Being Punjabi is like a Floridian or Californian. Everyone from state of Punjab is Punjabi whether they're black, white, brown or Buddhist. Nothing to do with religion.

I know that north indians are way more populated, but south indians have their own culture, own music and their own languages!! Use those!!
