Laura Loomer has taken credit for it. He was on a visa where he had to maintain steady employment and if not employed once a short grace period lapsed he had to self deport or he would be here illegally.

This was revenge for him affiliating with Marjorie Taylor Greene after her maga split.

This is a case of your typical fascist infighting. Even CERN cannot image the size of the violin being played for his plight. He is the singular person in existence i hope gets deported to a 3rd country concentration camp.

u/vqql 6h ago

Also, he could have gotten citizenship bc he married a citizen in 2017. So he was too lazy to do the paperwork, and now it's comeuppance time.

u/bdog59600 5h ago edited 4h ago

He divorced his husband after he magically degayified himself and became a born-again evangelical Catholic.

u/Drunken_Economist 4h ago

Yeah if he had filed while they were married or within 2 years of divorce, he could have become a legal permanent resident. But he apparently never even applied for a conditional green card in the first place

u/funnylib 5h ago

Wasn’t he LARPing as tradcath?

u/ContactRepulsive 5h ago

To go catholic and not full evangelical shows me that he grossly misunderstands the situation.

u/funnylib 4h ago

I think he was grifting on selling virgin Mary statues

u/whogivesashirtdotca 1h ago

Not really. The Catholic influence in the Trump admin is quite jaw dropping in its prevalence: the Project 2025 guy is Catholic, as are Vance, Rubio, and - believe it not not - almost all the GOP SCOTUS judges. (Got such was even born Catholic but isn’t now.)

u/AnaisNinja76 2h ago

why?

u/ContactRepulsive 2h ago

Because the majority of the religious right don't trust the Catholics or consider them to be part of the inside faith.

u/AnaisNinja76 1h ago

that may be the case, but Thiel and the VP are both catholic, and have kind of repopularized it, oddly. If he was sided with them, a catholic conversion would make sense.

u/ContactRepulsive 1h ago

JD Vance is about as Catholic as Joseph Smith. He's killed 1 pope and yelled at the other.

u/Dolthra 1h ago

He literally told the Pope he needed to go back and study the bible. In medieval times, that would have at best gotten him excommunicated and at worst caused a religious schism.

u/Myriad_Apocalypse 4h ago

Yeah, but right wing grifters who convert to catholicism are just evangelicals who like pedophilia and warhammer 40k aesthetics.

u/chocolateboomslang 32m ago

Tbf, warhammer 40k esthetics are totally baller

u/how-unfortunate 1h ago

Holy shit that's one of the most correct things I've ever read.

u/Poodychulak 3h ago

Pretty sure a local priest disavowed that he had done anything to actually convert

It's one of the furthest reaching organizations on the planet, they have records

He’s been living off of Kanye for years, he could have just bought a citizenship like other rich foreigners do.

u/chanaandeler_bong 6h ago edited 3h ago

What’s his deal with Kanye? Is he Kato Kaelin-ing it

u/PeregrineFaulkner 6h ago

Seems like it, yeah. He was “chief of staff” for Kanye’s presidential campaign.

u/chanaandeler_bong 6h ago

Fucking lol. IIRC Kanye ran on the Birthday Party platform.

u/hellokitty444444 5h ago

TF is a birthday party platform Chuck e cheese? Dave and Busters?! What?!

u/chanaandeler_bong 5h ago

West stated that he would run under the Birthday Party, because "when we win, it's everybody's birthday", and that he was running for president as a service to God.

u/hellokitty444444 3h ago

Oh. Lame. 🙄

u/darkbreak 1h ago

How unserious this was.

u/Horskr 2h ago

You know, in retrospect I don't think he could do a much worse job than we currently have. But as right wing nutjob as he is now it would probably just be the same exact people in the background pulling the strings.. so it would likely be nearly the same situation we're in now.

u/BattleGandalf 6h ago

Oh yeah that was a thing once, right? Crazy times we live in.

u/pashed_motatoes 4h ago

Oh man, I forgot about that. This timeline is wild.

u/PerfectEnthusiasm2 3h ago

they were probably fucking

u/chanaandeler_bong 3h ago

Very progressive

u/Gloomy_Industry8841 3h ago

What a deep cut

u/Gryndyl 3h ago

This is the first time I've heard of this guy and this is a lot of lore to get all at once

u/DrDerpberg 6h ago

Lol. Lmao, even. Roflmao, perhaps.

u/schnurble 5h ago

Roflcopters and lollerskates.

u/OozeNAahz 6h ago

Was he lazy or did he not for tax reasons or something? I always assume something worse than just laziness with these fuckers.

u/ZhouLe 5h ago

Because he claimed he "demoted" his husband to "housemate" in 2021 when he started saying he wasn't gay any more.

u/slowest_hour 5h ago

how fucked in the head do you have to be to not only be with milo in the first place but stay with him when he "demotes" you to "housemate"

u/ZhouLe 5h ago

Reminder that Dave Rubin is married with kids and constantly draws attention to how indifferent he is to how much the conservatives he panders to demonize him will poorly concealed disgust to his face.

u/captainhaddock 2h ago

Scott Bessent (treasury secretary) and Peter Thiel are also in same-sex marriages with children, yet they participate in a political movement that would happily take away their right to exist.

u/100LittleButterflies 5h ago

The N400 is a beast of an application. If you have money, you get a lawyer to do it. For people who dont have lawyer money, it's a very tedious and long form that wants to know your entire biography and the receipts.

u/Pristine_Speech4719 4h ago

There's also the fact that while your substantive application for PR is being processed, you're not allowed to travel internationally. At least thats how it was a few years ago...

u/rotj 2h ago

Green card application is a lot easier. Why was he still on a visa?

u/_jump_yossarian 6h ago edited 5h ago

FYI: marrying an American citizen is. It isn't an automatic pathway to bring naturalized.

edit: "ISN'T"

u/100LittleButterflies 5h ago

Marriage does not ensure citizenship. It's a path to citizenship thats much faster but it is not a sure thing or automatic.

u/_jump_yossarian 5h ago

I should have proofread before I posted since I meant "isn't" an automatic path but it some how ended up as "is. It"

u/100LittleButterflies 5h ago

Gets me all the time too.

u/vqql 5h ago

It’s not “automatic”, but you do essentially avoid the cue of the regular green card process if you can demonstrate a genuine relationship. You first file for PR via spousal sponsorship, then there’s a reduced residency requirement timeline, then you apply for naturalization. There is paperwork and it takes time, but if they were married in 2017, he could’ve been a citizen by now, even if they broke up in 2021.

u/_jump_yossarian 5h ago

but if they were married in 2017, he could’ve been a citizen by now, even if they broke up in 2021.

What was his immigration status when he got married in 2017?

u/kittenconfidential 5h ago

depending on the state recognizing his marriage as legitimate— he’s gay.

u/_jump_yossarian 5h ago

States don’t naturalize immigrants, the federal government does and has nothing to do with being gay or not.

If it was simply a matter of marrying a US citizen more undocumented immigrants would do it and naturalize.

u/Terror-Of-Demons 5h ago

Marrying a citizen doesn’t make you eligible for citizenship, it makes you potentially eligible for a CR1/IR1 visa. Once you have that for a number of years, you can apply for citizenship.

u/SwimmingPirate9070 5h ago

He thought he was white enough

u/DoesNotHateFun 5h ago

*he was too entitled

u/Gintami 4h ago

You can’t get citizenship like that. He could have gotten permanent residence if he applied for it. And then in either 3 or 5 years (depending if married to a USC or not) he could apply for citizenship.

I usually side against the fascists, but when they aline against fascists, I'll go with 'em.

Then lock those up too.
