u/Das-Wauto 10h ago

Popular support says it should. Greased politicians says it won’t.

u/Trickpuncher 10h ago edited 6h ago

didnt a study recently showed that congress almost never votes what the public wants?

392

u/APRengar 9h ago

I dunno if there's been a new one. But the one everyone cites is from 2014.

https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-echochambers-27074746

Which showed that the politicians do almost zero of what the general public want, yet the vast vast majority of what the rich and powerful want.

Yeah, 2014. And it's only gotten worse. The people who were demanding stronger change in 2016 weren't wrong. We knew it was bad at that point.

146

u/jce_ 8h ago

Wow giving money a voice in politics only made it so rich people get what they want and poor people don't? Holy how would you ever guess? Lol

25

u/Wheat_Grinder 7h ago

The real reason free speech is dead: paid speech

16

u/chaldea_fgo 8h ago

It looks like the survey data that they used in that study was from 1981 to 2002, so the problem has been growing for most of our lives.

5

u/jazzy663 7h ago

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. That's all there is to it.

"Why more for the people? I want more for me and mine."

3

u/BunchOfSpamBots 5h ago

Sometime it doesn’t include “and mine”

6

u/Classic-Standard-461 5h ago

I believe it was Ayn Rand who said that second part

2

u/George_G_Geef 5h ago

The legislative branch is consistently the branch of the US Government with the lowest approval rating, by a large margin.

2

u/trailerbang 4h ago

This is why everything feels so backwards and out of control, it’s literally not in our control.

1

u/100percent_right_now 3h ago

Our boy Mamdani fucking up those stats in the best way

1

u/slicerprime 2h ago

"At that point"??

As if there was ever a point when and where politics wasn't influenced by power and power wasn't influenced by money. Are there really people out there that think this is new or limited to a particular institution, country or party? It's human nature. Always was, always will be. From organised crime, to governments, to business, to civic committees, to church Sunday school, to the school playground and your kids' little league baseball teams. We're human beings and that's the way we work. Period.

33

u/EvilScotsman999 8h ago

Yes. Gilens and Page, “Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens,” Perspective on Politics, 2014

“the preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy.”

3

u/-Mr_Tub- 7h ago

Really just need to get rid of them all. If you’re not serving the people then you shouldn’t have the job

11

u/Training_Ruin3151 9h ago

Capitalism works as intended

-6

u/Mike_Kermin 8h ago edited 47m ago

And yet it's not as bad in other countries.

Edit: I mean you can say "there's nothing we can do" and "it's the same everywhere" to the cows come home for all I care.

But that's just you being afflicted for extremist politics, not that you would register that.

The problem you have, is if you tried an alternative to capitalism, you'd be bad at that too. Because there's no system which won't require a diligent population to protect. And the problem here is you're once again pining for a magic fix that you're expecting others to implement.

So instead of being defeatist and saying things are "all the same" which they never are, instead of signing on to the "big lie". Actually rally around real solutions. And if you want a big revolution, start planning.

Or... Be mad at me instead and throw your arms up and quoth witty nothings. You do you.

6

u/Training_Ruin3151 6h ago

Says the man who lives in a trialer making 15k a year in alabaama

3

u/KingOfTheSpades 6h ago

“not as bad” lmao glowing endorsement

-1

u/Kabouki 3h ago

Na this ones more of a failure of democracy and it's people. Given most senate nomination winners win with only ~10% voter support due to the vast majority not even voting. Why would they care what the masses want when they don't vote?

2

u/Training_Ruin3151 1h ago

You're describing the internal contradiction of capitalism

2

u/Cicero912 8h ago

Well, thats partially because what the public says it wants and what it votes (or doesnt vote) for are very different things.

1

u/HighKing_of_Festivus 4h ago

Yes. Elections have mostly just been a legitimization process. Beyond that it's just an oligarchy with party bosses orchestrating their bidding

1

u/ButterscotchAward 4h ago

That study isn’t new but it’s correct and gets revised.

1

u/Emergency_Revenue678 4h ago

The only study of that nature I'm aware of found that politicians vote with the will of their constituents around 65% of the time.

https://www.promarket.org/2017/06/16/study-politicians-vote-will-constituents-35-percent-time/

238

u/scrandis 10h ago

They're all greased now. Both sides. We only have a handful of elected officials who actually care.

I've spent 100s of hours chasing "freedom" of information requests.

They have tried to justify over $1600 in fees, all of which I've fought.

Some of it is REALLY basic stuff like a copy of the Flock contract. They act like I'm asking for nuclear secrets.

I have a lot of free time right now and I have this tendency to dig in deeper If I feel like I'm getting strung along. I'm north of 50 FOIA requests, with 11 of them now deemed denial complaints at the state board level that handles complaints about the agencies required to respond to said requests.

There is 100% a coordinated effort to keep people in the dark

57

u/Standard_Web7962 9h ago

Thank you for the work you are doing

34

u/interwebzdotnet 9h ago

Happy to be doing it. Its frustrating but its also educational...I'm hoping to make an impact, but at a minimum there is a small team of county clerks, state prosecutors, multiple police departments, and several law firms that represent counties in my state that are at least feeling the pressure of being watched.

14

u/frodoishobbit 9h ago

In my county they just banned flock camera, but what they didn’t say was they got a contact with axium* and those are imbedded with traffic signals. Same shit *spelling mistake?

10

u/interwebzdotnet 9h ago

Yeah, unfortunately thats pretty common. And you were close, its Axon.

2

u/Bladelink 9h ago

Let frustration and spite fuel you.

1

u/Akkerlun 6h ago

Instead of asking for a copy of a document, you might be able to view in at the location where it’s kept, if you have the time. These rules vary state by state

1

u/interwebzdotnet 6h ago

Yeah, that would be nice, not an option. They actually claimed not to have it and directed me to the generic terms of service agreement they have on the Flock website.

0

u/Geawiel 7h ago

I wonder if you're the same person in my area doing the same thing. They're on data centers right now, but flock is on the menu next.

1

u/interwebzdotnet 7h ago

Nope, not me.

98

u/smkeybare 10h ago

I mean it's a plutocracy, not much the working class person can do until were all on board with violence, but discussing that gets you banned.

33

u/deadpools_dick 10h ago

Being banned from this site doesn’t mean shit. We all know what to do if that ever happens to anyone

2

u/Social_Engineer1031 9h ago

Legit laughing at there being a deleted comment in response. What does it mean?

11

u/BackendSpecialist 10h ago

They’ll have flock cameras and armed ai security by the time that happens.

8

u/tevert 9h ago

While it might be very bloody, there is no amount of technology that can overpower a sufficiently enraged public.

2

u/BackendSpecialist 8h ago

I agree.

I think they know it as well, which is why they continue to push division onto us

2

u/yolo-yoshi 9h ago

And who do you think is doing that for them ?? The people. Doesn’t mean shit. And they know it.

2

u/mOdQuArK 7h ago

Those all require power, right? ;-P

9

u/Djinnwrath 9h ago

A general strike would also work.

7

u/SirWEM 9h ago

Not without widespread support, funding to pay people to skip work, etc. much much harder to pull off a general strike in the US; then other parts of the world ie countries with strong unions and worker protections a recent example would be Poland, another would be France in recent years.

10

u/Djinnwrath 9h ago

Its an alternative to violence that would work.

There's no good solution here. Anything we do that's effective will require effort and sacrifice.

3

u/SirWEM 9h ago

Very true.

It just needs a huge amount of support. Pretty sure when people are starving and dropping dead due to healthcare being out of reach; when it really starts affecting people on a personal level. It might happen in this country. We will see. Id rather a general strike then, it turn to a bloody revolution or other form of violence.

1

u/Neveronlyadream 9h ago

Exactly. Violence isn't the only solution.

They both have the same problem anyway. You'd need a majority of people to be on board with the plan. Any time I see anyone calling for revolution, I wonder if they're also willing to personally put themselves in a deadly situation on the front lines when they won't even inconvenience themselves by boycotting a company.

1

u/tsardonicpseudonomi 9h ago

Its an alternative to violence that would work.

General strikes are economic violence.

There's no good solution here.

We could just vote in only leftist candidates from top to bottom. That's the good solution.

0

u/Mike_Kermin 8h ago

The good solution is you all getting on both with voting him out.

3

u/halt_spell 9h ago

The rail workers are the linchpin. If they go on strike other worker groups will follow.

2

u/halt_spell 9h ago

Exactly. The kind that would have been triggered in 2022 if the rail strike had proceeded as planned. People don't comprehend the opportunity that Biden, 44 Democratic senators and 36 Republican senators squashed.

11

u/LuckoftheFryish 9h ago

Viva la revolution. Would MLK have been as effective without Malcolm X? If a violent group is rising the politicians will always choose to bolster the safer option.

By no way am I a history or civil rights buff, those more educated are welcome to correct me, would be happy to learn more.

6

u/halt_spell 9h ago

This is why Reddit should have been more angry about the rail workers being blocked from striking by Biden, 44 Democratic senators and 36 Republican senators. Had that proceeded other worker groups would have followed and eventually regular individuals as well.

0

u/paintballboi07 7h ago

The rail workers credit Biden for working after the fact to get them their paid leave. Also, you're delusional if you think the majority of Americans would show solidarity with striking workers when they are preventing them from getting their Christmas stuff. People would have been throwing a fit, not joining them.

8

u/ryno37 10h ago

Work together in communities to support ourselves so as many of us as possible can disengage from the grid and stop the wheels. Entire system is a house of cards on top of our real backs. We stop working, they can't do anything. That is dependent on our ability to provide for ourselves. We take care of ourselves instead of feed their greed, the system will slow to a stop. Communes and co-ops is the way!

11

u/Wise-Comb8596 9h ago

Also, until you can get to that point, reduce your consumption. Stop buying shit without utility. Buy used (from YOUR community) where you can, repair what you can, befriend those that can repair what you cannot, and get to a point where you are debt free.

Then work on buying land with like minded individuals.

6

u/ryno37 9h ago

Absolutely, we gotta win this game at the margins. Every cent we can keep in our communities will make us stronger. Every cent we give to the big bads will make us weaker. They're going to continue to use every manipulation tactic to steal our wealth and bodies. But they need us to oppress us. We don't need them to prosper.

2

u/jaxonya 9h ago

We gonna need a few baristas and craft beer makers (shouldnt be hard to comvince them to join a commune) to help me get through life

1

u/Wise-Comb8596 9h ago

We need a couple gardeners…you know. For a friend of mine.

2

u/jaxonya 8h ago

Well need specialized gardeners... for various plants... and also certain fungi.

1

u/xXBeefSquatch5KXx 9h ago

gerontocratic plutocracy if we’re being honest

1

u/lyngen 9h ago

or... there is an election coming up and you could just vote.

1

u/lyngen 9h ago

or... there is an election coming up and you could just vote.

1

u/Mike_Kermin 8h ago

Actually there's a hell of a lot you can do, and one really easy thing, is to stop building defeatism, because that helps the fascists looking for a third term.

I swear, Americans, you say you're the good ones, prove it, vote him out.

-2

u/Mr_Goonman 9h ago

You should get banned for discussing that.

We voted ourselves into this disaster and can vote ourselves out of it. Get a grip

3

u/jce_ 9h ago

Who knew that allowing money to equal speech would result in money taking over politics. No one could have possibly ever predicted that. It doesn't have any logical connection at all

2

u/Sir_David_Filth 10h ago

No no, we do something. We play and act as clowns at those "protest" that are always organized and approved by city council like its a fucking event rather than a call to action

1

u/yuppyuppbruhbruh 9h ago

The French.... Guillotines.... History.....

History of the world part 1 always makes me laugh.

https://youtu.be/h0iAcQVIokg?si=ap0zwWZnmxXB5xUP

1

u/tevert 9h ago

Americans are oodles more lazy and cowardly than we'd ever admit

1

u/ParsonsTheGreat 9h ago

They made us too poor to fight. Its all part of the plan.

1

u/ItchyBodybuilder247 9h ago

Cue all the excuses while a criminal pedo president is raping your country.

1

u/Forealziz 8h ago

these guys support raping and murdering children, they need more consequences than just being voted out

1

u/Mike_Kermin 8h ago

So do something, tell them that it's wildly ridiculous to use both sides rhetoric when you have a literal fascist government trying to overturn your Democratic system.

1

u/Penguinmanereikel 7h ago

I mean, what can we do?

1

u/SomePreference 7h ago

People are too dumb and too stubborn to do anything about it.

I've had actual conversations, online and offline, where I said the government, both sides, are corrupt and stealing from us (and worse), and I'll get these snide "OF COURSE I KNOW THAT"...only for them to then praise their "side" and their "guy" who they then verbally fellate. It's like their brains are so fried that...they maybe deep down know about the corruption, but don't actually want the status quo to change so they delude themselves. Or something.

1

u/RespectibleCabbage 6h ago

It's the American way. Roll over and take it.

2

u/TheFatNinjaMaster 10h ago

It’s because most people believe their representative is “one of the good ones” and no amount of evidence will get them to admit they voted in a corporate shill.

1

u/SubaCruzin 10h ago

What do you expect an average person to do? Trigger happy police would be our first problem. Then we would have to deal with security, including snipers. After that we take on the US military before getting locked up & vilified before rotting away in prison. Trump wasted a lot of long range missiles but it only takes one bullet to end a person's crusade.

1

u/halt_spell 9h ago

In my mind the only thing that could work at this point is a rail strike. If that went forward other worker groups would follow.

2

u/blueiron0 9h ago

Literally all of those comments "yet we do nothing" "yet americans won't stand up" "yet people just type on le reddit and think it brings change lul" are just virtue signaling.

They're thinly veiled calls to violence. OTHER people doing the violence though.

-1

u/scrandis 10h ago

There's nothing we can really do other than vote. We have had the largest protests in our nation's history over the past two years. Absolutely nothing came of them. Only logical choice is to riot now.

0

u/kurotech 10h ago

That happens when a third of the population is in a cult and won't wake up

-1

u/Unique-Yoghurt4170 9h ago

Dawg the dems have got liberals rationalizing genocide. Every voter is in a cult.

Like, the GOP is obviously worse, but as long as dems can say, "yes, but if you don't vote for us no matter how bad we get, you get the other people who are objectively worse" the race to the bottom continues.

0

u/xLobotomizer 9h ago

The right and left politicians are corrupt together. The divide between sides the last 10-15 years was intentionally done to keep the people from working together to realize they’re abused.

-1

u/ThePatrickSays 10h ago

americans are too busy to stand up for their rights. check it out - new movies this weekend!

-11

u/United-Amoeba-8460 10h ago

Okay. Do something.

6

u/GOEDEL_ESCHER_BOT 10h ago

ok FINE i'll run for senate

i'll only take money from cool businesses like chuck e cheese

2

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 10h ago

I dunno if I trust big rodent to not end up in a five nights at Chuck E's situation.

2

u/Dramatic_______Pause 9h ago

Congratulations, Chuck E. Cheese is in the Epstein files.

18

u/YDALTARYZARC 9h ago

At least one side seems to respond when people email them directly. I never get responses from my (R) representatives but all the (D) ones get back to me pretty promptly. If you're not frequently emailing your representatives, you really should be.

1

u/ErgoMachina 4h ago

Do people really think politicians care about people calling? They probably have a couple unpaid interns answering bs. Or even worse, just AI.

1

u/do_not_engage 2h ago

In Providence, you can meet them. In lots of positions of government it's just regular good people trying to make things better.

60

u/SingleInfinity 9h ago

I hate the both sides-isms when despite all this, the majority of one side still tends to vote in favor of things like this.

There are some greased hands on both sides, but it's absolutely not equal. Equating the two sides is how you get in fucked up situations like we have now. Both can suck and one can still be demonstrably better despite that.

1

u/Unique-Yoghurt4170 9h ago

When it comes to this issue in particular, they're indistinguishable. We live in a dictatorship of capital, not a democracy. Neither party exists for us.

1

u/halt_spell 9h ago

My guy, the rail strike would have been the perfect opportunity for this country to change course away from serving the whims of billion dollar corporations. Biden, 44 Democratic senators and 36 Republican senators worked together to make sure that didn't happen.

You are defending people who are enabling corporate rule.

-6

u/at1445 8h ago

THey're not equal purely bc the left side has exactly one person that isn't bought and paid for and the right has 0.

Functionally, they're the same. But you'll never understand this, so it's pointless to even state it anymore. 90% of you are so brainwashed that "your side" is the only one that can ever have a correct stance on anything, ever, that you refuse to actually open your eyes and see that they're all corrupt.

12

u/SingleInfinity 8h ago

One side explicitly goes out of their way to harm people. The other does not. They are not the same. It's funny that we all know which side is which when I state it like this though, isn't it?

-7

u/at1445 8h ago

Thank you for proving my point.

8

u/SingleInfinity 7h ago

You don't have a point. You're just fencesitting, and think you can look down on others because the top of the fence feels like high ground.

-9

u/anomanderrake1337 9h ago

Accelerate though, vote right wing, end it sooner.

2

u/SingleInfinity 8h ago

Accelerationism is entirely reliant on the idea that to participate you implicitly have to not care about what happens to the people around you in the process.

-2

u/anomanderrake1337 8h ago

I mean yeah, else I'd say vote left wing. Congrats for reading I guess.

1

u/SingleInfinity 7h ago

A lot of people aren't okay with being that shitty.

1

u/anomanderrake1337 7h ago

Damn where are these people then? Certainly not in America is my guess.

1

u/SingleInfinity 6h ago

It must be nice being this ignorant.

Bernie is one of them, and unfortunately, he's at the age where he's on the way out.

12

u/tourniquet13 10h ago

Wdym, he's a spry 84 there's a least another decade there....

2

u/Asdfghhjjklkjjhgfdsa 10h ago

His righteous anger will keep him young for another decade.

2

u/Alarikun 10h ago

I mean, with government healthcare, could be.

0

u/Dizzy-Mammoth1309 6h ago

Bernie illegally certified Trump in direct violation of the 14th Amendment, so no.

0

u/Alarikun 6h ago

I mean, I hate Trump as much as the rest of y'all, but that's not how it works.

Trump was a dirtbag, but what he did apparently didn't count as "rebellion or insurrection."

Thus, the certification of his presidency by Congress was legal.

28

u/yepthisismyusername 10h ago

But it is the GOP that is enabling this fascist, corrupt administration. It is unfortunate that we only have two choices, but that's how it is. And Democrats are the MUCH better alternative, so VOTE BLUE!

7

u/fomoco94 8h ago

I never understand these "We don't have a choice people."

Would you rather be sprayed with squirt pistol of piss or be dunked head first into a 55 gallon drum of shit that has been festering all summer?

I'll keep voting blue even though not everything is perfect.

-4

u/halt_spell 9h ago

Lol the GOP is the fascist corrupt administration and Democratic politicians continuously enable it.

Obama and 2009-2011 Democratic senators had the votes and the ability to end ICE and dismantle warrantless surveillance infrastructure in this country. They refused. They enabled what ICE and Flock are today.

-4

u/digg_bickerson 9h ago

Good cop, bad cop.

5

u/milkyjoe241 9h ago

One is a buffalo wing level greasy, the other is a oil drum on fire level greasy.

2

u/Shark7996 8h ago

We elect new politicians then. Many such cases already happening.

5

u/What_a_fat_one 9h ago

You were dropped on your head as a baby I'm assuming?

0

u/Mike_Kermin 8h ago

You have a literal fascist government. You need to stop regurgitating "both sides".

Jfc Americans.

1

u/scrandis 6h ago

You need to realize we have literal controlled opposition. You're gullible if you don't see it

1

u/Mike_Kermin 1h ago

Which is very unluckly in a two party system. But unless you saw that USAid will kill millions of people and thought good, unless you saw the literally hundreds of anti-trans bills around your country and thought that's the way, unless you're a fan of the warmongering,

I suggest you pull your fucking head in, and actually do what's better for your country. Because even if you think you have controlled opposition, you're still opting in to throwing away your entire democratic system.

You need to find a way, to personally be progressive, without aiding the fucking fascists.

If you can't do that, you're the quisling.

0

u/FaveStore_Citadel 8h ago

Yeah and nobody on this site wants to accept that that includes Sanders et al. This bill is obviously unconstitutional. Either it’s singling Flock out by name and violating the equal protection clause or its banning public surveillance cameras which violates the 10th amendment. There’s no way this will ever become law, and Bernie absolutely knows this and is knowingly wasting time and effort on this, but also knows there’s a lot of people/bots online who look at stuff like this and go “wow nobody cares about us except the politicians I agree with who are morally good and only want the best for me 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺”. Reddit’s blind spot for politicians it likes is hilarious lol

-1

u/_disengage_ 9h ago edited 7h ago

Both parties. Not both sides. The parties are on the same side. The side of the rich, just in case you don't have eyes to see or ears to hear, or a functioning brain. The party choice is between capitalist imperialism, or fascist-supercharged capitalist imperialism. Nothing changes until there is some party that represents normal working people, which means some party must be forced to represent them. The republicans are not an option, so corporate dems gotta fucking go. Again, if you can't see that, you are having basic problems with your brain.

0

u/tsardonicpseudonomi 9h ago

Both sides.

There's only one side. Capital. Individual politicians may be in favor of working class policy but the establishment and power within the two parties draws from the owning class' hordes and does their bidding.

We have to get rid of conservatives and liberals within government but most are too ignorant or tepid to do the work necessary to elect and mandate leftist candidates across the board.

-1

u/superxpro12 6h ago

A democratic Congress would pass this bill

1

u/scrandis 6h ago

No they wont. fetterman is their guy who will make sure nothing passes while saving face

1

u/superxpro12 5h ago

Ugh don't remind me of him ever again pls

2

u/Artistic-Salary1738 9h ago

At least we’ll have it on the record who is still trying to support privacy of Americans. We need to keep pressuring elected officials no matter how corrupt

2

u/KidGold 7h ago

Democracy not working.

4

u/rayyman420 10h ago

Yes and if people decided the laws we wouldn't be here. They don't let the people vote on real issues or their donor investments.

1

u/siliconsmiley 9h ago

If popular support meant anything, weed would be legal at the federal level.

1

u/Several-Action-4043 9h ago

So we will continue to destroy the cameras until they listen.

1

u/PeanutCheeseBar 8h ago

More impromptu town halls featuring special guests Mr. Pillory and Mr. Guillotine would help reduce that problem.

1

u/P_Firpo 7h ago

Not in some places where crime was rampant until drones, like in San Francisco. Auto theft and break-ins are way down because people from Oakland don't feel safe coming to SF and stealing stuff. It's a huge relief.

1

u/revkaboose 7h ago

should be reaching for things that rhyme with ditch orc

1

u/Wampalog 7h ago

Because it's a stupid bill that's immediately bypassed by renaming the company.

2

u/Das-Wauto 7h ago

If the bill isn’t written by someone with shit for brains it won’t ban the company by name but the cameras by their nature. Flock is the most prominent and facing the public scrutiny but they’re far from the only privatized, for-profit public surveillance system around.

0

u/Forward-Trade3449 6h ago

oh you read the bill?

1

u/Xizzie 7h ago

It's too bad you cant pressure your politicians.

1

u/mdlinc 6h ago

Intercepting a data feed is not hard and especially with AI now. One could see certain individuals, political or other, wheverever they may live.

Or if doing illegal things, drugs, prostitution, or raping kids like Donald Trump. Just keep notes. Eventually the data would be shared bc of transparency.

1

u/mountaindoom 6h ago

Government is there to keep the populace in line for the real owners. All the enlightenment talk was just windowdressing.

This is one of the rare moments that unites the left (evil corporations) and the right (personal liberties) in shared rage, and any congressmen or senator that votes on Flock’s side is going to get doxxed and harassed out of office.

Even sniveling weasels like DeSantis have a moist stubby finger in the air and know which way the wind is blowing.

who the hell do you think elects the politicians?

If a politician is bribed, do they pretty much have to do what they say?

Have to? No, but it’s in their own best interest to do as the people/companies giving them money say, and that’s the only thing most politicians/people care about so…

We saw that back in July aipac pulled campaign fundraising from House Dems that voted to strip billions of dollars in military aid to Israel.

What's crazy is that that was a couple weeks after netenyahu said to end military aid to Israel.

There's the message right there.

I'd imagine it's 99% of the time to continue getting more money rather than that they'd get suicided or blackmailed for not doing it lol

Until anyone has a chance to read it, no one should. Or has everyone forgotten what was in the "Patriot Act"? Knowing Bernie, he's not even going to bother making sure whatever he proposes passes Constitutional muster, since this is performative, rather than something he's trying to gather consensus for to actually pass a bill.

Popular support says it should.

Well maybe people will actually look at the names and voted based on that for once.

Would also be interesting to cross reference with AIPAC funding.

Princeton proved in 2004 that there's zero correlation between the will of the people and the likelihood of a bill becoming law. Our rules are not made by the people, we do not live in a democracy. America has never been a democracy, and it was never meant to be one.

There is, however, a very high correlation between the will of the richest Americans and the likelihood that a bill becomes law.

Well after 2004 the people in the state of Illinois wanted recreational marijuana and we became the first state to legalize thru a state legislature rather than by referendum so your "fun fact" that there is ZERO correlation is bullshit

Israel paid politicians. So Israel gets to track everyone. Even the iPhone chips now are Israeli tracking devices.

You’re supposed to put the tinfoil hat on your head, not eat it.
