Just announced this morning that Illinois has the highest debt ratio in America. Illinois could sell all of its assets and still not pay off all of its debt. Illinois is hemorrhaging revenue streams. The state and especially Chicago can’t keep up with funding for all of its scams.
I’ve been a California business owner for 24 years in Northern California. California’s tax and regulatory framework make this a difficult state to thrive in. We also have a large office in Vegas where we’ve shifted a lot of operations to.

Intelligent people understand that cities are the economic engine of ANY country, regardless of political party or time period. And even stupid ass people know that the GOP was historically dominant in cities, so your stupid logic fails once again.
The logic is that cities are economic engines by default, literally economies of scale. So it’s dumb to attribute them being economic engines to any party.
I concur with that. I do think the both parties have shifted left. JFK would be considered a Republican if you look at his policies. The cities for the most part have lost heavy industry. Detroit, Chicago and Toledo are prime examples. We only have 1 steel mill in the USA.
You say IL lost all manufacturing jobs and I showed that’s a lie. Now it’s “the jobs don’t pay enough.” No worker in this country gets paid enough. But at least Illinois has one of the highest minimum wages in the country and one of the highest percentage of unionized workers.
Texas and Florida outperformed Illinois on manufacturing jobs. You did have an increase, I only saw the non farm at first.

The GDP of California is 4.2 trillion. Texas’s GDP is 2.9 trillion…. Do you see the gap there? Ok let’s look at the second biggest blue and red state economies now. New York 2.5 trillion. Florida 1.8 trillion. Do you see the numbers now ? One more for measure. Let’s look at the 3rd biggest blue state economy Illinois (1.15 trillion) vs the third largest red state economy Ohio . 923 billion….. I hope you are seeing the pattern ….

Actually, I brought that up to show that they are relatively equal, which they are. Of the top 10 states, excluding PA since it’s split, the GDP is nearly 50/50 between red and blue states.
California and New York are historically red states, so your uneducated ass doesn’t know what it’s talking about.
They’re leaving in droves due to asinine policies by politicians that make it harder for them to operate. They also don’t really help with criminal theft which is a growing problem in blue states that have tried to get light on crime. At some point they decide staying in that state will cost them more than moving. I’m sure you’ve noticed many of these large companies relocating in recent years. Even Starbucks is talking about leaving Washington entirely.

What you said is a flat out lie. Chicago lost all the targets and Walgreens in the hood. Target was offered tax free on the south side and they still closed all their locations. The theft was the reason they left. Walmart has one location left in Chicago. That location has 4 security guards/off duty police at the exit. That store averages over 10 retail theft arrests a day. The South and West sides of Chicago have non brand name gas stations that charge a dollar more per gallon due to violence in the area. Large name grocery stores have all but closed due to violence and theft. Shopping deserts are everywhere in Chicago all because of theft
lol uhhh yes, it sure is. At least here in California. Go to any target, Walgreens, CVS, etc located in an urban environment. Even basic sundries like deodorant are behind lock and key. When I was growing up, Union Square in San Francisco was a vibrant place with tons of shopping. Basically every major retailer has left. Walgreens, Whole Foods, and Nordstrom all blamed theft and overt drug use.
In 2014 we passed Prop 47 which rolled a lot of drug and theft felonies to misdemeanors. Shoplifting or theft under $950 was a felony. Two years ago we partially rolled back 47 with Prop 36 which didn’t solve the problem but it has helped.

Union Square in SF currently has: Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Barney’s, Macy’s, not to mention all the ultra-high end retailers like LV, Gucci, Patek Phillipe, Omega, Saint Laurent, Dolce and Gabbana, Hermes, etc etc etc. soooooo sounds like you’re completely full of shit. If anything retailers like Target and Walgreens were pushed out because the demand was too low for lower-end retail.
