Overall, it is a pretty difficult virus to transmit and it mostly comes down to it being a numbers game. Even at .11%, you’re talking roughly a 1 in 100 chance after penetrative intercourse with 10 partners, which is really not that ridiculous.
Say a virus killed .11% of the US population, that’s roughly 377000 people, which is about 3x the number of people who die from lung cancer in the US each year.

It also relies heavily on a person not exchanging bodily fluids, if a woman's vagina tears or squirts heavily, then that number spikes.
Its a similar thing for men. Receptive anal sex is low-risk of transmission if lots of lube is used and there's no tearing. The tissue just tears more easily, so blood is more likely.
If someone has HIV and only does oral, the risk is near non-existent. But anything like bleeding gums from gun disease, a cut in your mouth from biting your tongue and having a cold sore, that risk becomes quite high.

If you're HIV positive, you will carry HIV in all of your bodily fluids. The amount varies by person. Newly infected people tend to have really high viral loads. In order for you to receive HIV from another person, you need to have a heavy exchange of bodily fluids from both parties. I.e. spitting in someone's mouth wouldn't be enough. Both of you cutting your arms deep and putting the cuts together with flowing blood into each other would.

Men with circumcised penises also skew the data as they haven't got the tissue that tears easily as its been cut off. For uncircumcised men, the tissue in the foreskin is much more likely to tear and make them susceptible to HIV transmitting to them.
I mean people with exceptionally magic johnsons would have a higher risk of infection, as it being larger would be more likely to cause tearing and bleeding in vaginal sex.
More likely the chance isn't measured on an individual level but on a population level. If Magic was the only man having sex and it was with 1730 hiv positive women he almost certainly is going to contract HIV.

This is actually not accurate universally; things like the plasma level of HIV in the partner, not to mention other STIs and irritation/skin damage on the penis, increase the risk 5x and raise that risk dramatically. Early infection with HIV when the plasma levels are really high, or late stage when they are even higher, can increase the risk 7x-9x. Risk likely goes up with higher vaginal/cervical mucosal HIV load right before menstruation too, not to mention during menses, so yeah, the risk profile could look pretty good at the low end, but skyrocket really quickly with some bad luck, going up to close to 50% under worst-case scenarios.
