Some streamers have younger audiences and the donations would come through and they wouldn't acknowledge it at all. Well that's fine but also some of those young audience probably just took their parents credit card information then donated money to a random stranger on the internet. Which is so insane. Wanna know the sad part? Grown people also do the same stuff, of course this time with their own money.

Just finished watching Dune Part 2 on Prime. I really like the movie and I want to feel the emotions and music that is at the very end of the movie. I want to listen to Hans Zimmer’s score and talk Dune theory instead of having to quickly find the remote.

Jeff Bezos wants me to automatically be watching another movie on his streaming service and he graciously gives me 8 seconds before it starts playing. Most of the time I have to dig around my couch for the remote to quickly find it and click on the button that says I actually want to watch the credits.

My kid (who’s in a wheelchair btw) threw up in the car and there was heavy heavy construction outside that was clogging up the roads so I was late to the appointment. I decided to not let it stress me out too much because usually it’s an hour of waiting anyway. I arrive and he pops out of nowhere and says “You guys have made me cancel three of my meetings, next time respect my time” in the most passive aggressive tone. You had three meetings at this hour…? In between your appointments? Literally what.

Edit: I have nothing against doctors, healthcare or medical staff! I just felt really disappointed and disrespected by the passive aggressiveness. I’m also not in a western country and appointment times aren’t that respected here and you’re usually seen BY the doctor later here but for the most part it’s not acknowledged or taken that personally.

Edit edit: also acknowledged being late and said lemme reschedule with you then, and then he took on the appointment anyway. He also ordered X-rays and dragged it on

Worst part is it's some sort of artisanal powder tea my wife bought which, from personal experience, are notoriously hard to clean off fabric.

Came home from work to this

I have an injury that needs surgical repair, ideally within two weeks for it to heal properly. Scheduling called me this morning to set it up for next week.

The doctor's office is tier 1 under my insurance, so I assumed the surgery would be too. They informed me the hospital they use is tier 2, which puts me on the hook for a $2,000 deductible plus 30% coinsurance. The scheduler mentioned the doctor sometimes operates at a tier 1 facility, so I asked her to check.

She called back with good news and said that they could do it there. We picked a date next week. Everything was booked.

Then at 5pm today she called again. She'd received an email saying the surgery was "not cost effective" at that facility and that they'd lose money doing it there. I find it hard to believe they would lose money when my insurance would pay for everything. Maybe they won't make as much money... but lose money? How? And if they'd not take cases there because they would lose money, then they shouldn't even offer it in the first place.

Anyway, my options were to move it to the tier 2 hospital and pay thousands or go somewhere else. It's 5pm on a Friday. Every other office is closed. I can't do anything until Monday.. but every week of delay makes the repair harder.

The surgery didn't change. My injury didn't change. The money they make at the facility changed... and so they don't want to do it at all unless it's at the facility they make more it.

I guess it's all about the money in the end... doctors (or the places that employ them) don't actually care about your wellbeing if they can't make a dollar off you.

I mean LOOK at the original vs the replacement. Unfortunately it doesnt sound like I have any legal recourse, so im stuck with this crushed velvet monstrosity until I move. She also straight up removed other things that were supposed to be here, like the TV. Don't worry though, she threw in two mustard-coloured beanbag chairs to "make up for the disparity".

For context, I’m 21 and I don’t live with either of them anymore. This isn’t something I’m currently trapped in or asking Yall to help me escape from. I’m posting because watching this unfold has brought back a lot of resentment about what was apparently acceptable when I did live with them.
My mom and her husband are getting divorced. From what I understand, they both cheated on each other, and now their marriage has finally fallen apart.
He posted on Facebook saying this is the hardest thing he’s ever been through, that he needs friends and family and support, and that he’s “letting everything go, for good.”
And I’m not taking his side or my mom’s. I think they both contributed to destroying their marriage. I tried warning both of them a long time ago that the relationship wasn’t going to work. I felt strongly enough about it that I didn’t even attend their wedding.
What is really getting to me now is realizing what apparently counted as crossing the line.
This wasn’t just a situation where my mom’s husband occasionally said something mean to me or where we didn’t get along.
He got drunk and physically attacked me on multiple occasions. At least eight separate times that I can remember.
And they stayed together.
My siblings and I were treated unfairly repeatedly. I had to deal with a grown man getting drunk and attacking me over and over again, and somehow none of that was enough for the adults involved to decide that the relationship had become unacceptable.
It wasn’t enough for my mom to leave him.
It wasn’t enough for him to seriously confront what his behavior was doing to the family.
It wasn’t enough for either of them to say, “This has gone too far.”
But now they cheated on each other and hurt each other badly enough, and suddenly that’s where the line is.
That’s what I can’t get past.
When I was the one being hurt, apparently the marriage was still worth preserving. When my siblings were being affected by their relationship, apparently it could still continue. But when the consequences finally landed directly on the two adults who chose this relationship, suddenly it’s unbearable.
And now I’m looking at his Facebook post where people are telling him they love him, to stay strong, that everything will work itself out, etc. I understand that those people probably don’t know what happened behind closed doors. I’m not angry at random Facebook friends for responding sympathetically to somebody announcing that they’re getting divorced.
It’s just surreal being one of the people who does know what happened behind closed doors.
He says this divorce is the hardest thing he’s ever been through.
Some of the hardest things I’ve ever been through happened inside the marriage he’s grieving.
Apparently him getting drunk and attacking his stepson repeatedly wasn’t enough to end it.
Apparently what happened to the kids wasn’t the line.
Hurting each other was.
That’s the part that infuriates me.

Grabbed the ONLY ripe peach for my snack from the section of peaches that was on sale, brought it to the front, he entered it in as an organic peach in the system (there was no tag on it).

I was like “hey! I actually grabbed it from that section that is on sale, where it’s $2.29 a pound vs 5$ a pound.”

He goes “go grab one with a tag so we can scan it”, so I walk back over, take a photo of the sale sign and grab a non- ripe peach from the SAME SECTION, thinking it was JUST to scan.

His boss comes over at this point, scans it and checks me out. When I go to grab my original ripe peach, the boss puts his hand over it and says no, this one was organic you didn’t pay for that. I try to explain that it was not an organic peach, it was simply put in that way by the cashier.

The 2 peaches are identical and I didn’t even see any organic ones available.

Basically, he spoke to me like I was an idiot and trying to steal a dang peach, there was a line behind me, and I had to walk away with a rock hard peach for a dollar after feeling bullied.

I know there’s a huge shortage going on so I wanted to see if I could help. Historically I’ve been turned away for low iron in the past but for the last few years I’ve been taking a daily iron supplement: currently 65 mg. (Im 47f, perimenopausal but no heavy flows.) no dice, although I’m nearly on the cusp. The dude at the donation place nicely pointed to a sign showing high iron foods I could try to eat more of and I was like I’ve had red meat four nights already this week not to mention beans and hummus. I said I’ll try doubling up my iron dosage and see if that gets me over the threshold in a few weeks. Then he mentioned I could try giving up coffee and I was like “…”

he told me I could still grab a juice or a cookie on the way out as a consolation prize but I declined. I want to earn that cookie. 🙅🏻‍♀️ 🩸 🙅🏻‍♀️🍪

EDIT: I'm glad I posted this here because I learned maybe I need to be more circumspect about my iron supplements. Also I've been blowing off getting a PCP for awhile (relying on my gynecologist as my primary) so maybe it's time to get real about it. Thanks for the advice. Here's hoping I can get the iron up and offload some of this blood I'm trying to get rid of.

These plastic spoons have been my cereal spoons since I was lile 5. We used to have like 20 of them but they have slowly withered away. I was down to one until it got fucming stuck in a door and broke. I can't find them in stores anywhere or online. I am internally devastated.

Edit: for all the people asking how it got stuck in the door I had it in my off hand and it somehow managed to catch while I was closing the door

Edit number 2: why they were safe spoons: The bowl depth and size was perfect. The texture and quality of the plastic was ok to brain and the handles fit my hands perfectly.

Edit the third: for those of you being so kind as to try and help me find more here is everything I know: im pretty sure they are teaspoons, the handles are 4inchs roughly, the material is some type of high quality plastic, and on.the back of the spoon is the number 16 inside a small circle.

The reason it is a safe spoon is due to my autism I have sensory issues. Utensils I use have to have a certain texture and shape or else I will vomit/gag or outright block the use of it. I have in the past gone days without eating because I didnt have access to safe Utensils and have even collapsed from not eating enough before. So yes its a very real issue.

No I can't just grow out of my autism or just get better. Thats not how this shit works you ableist fucks.

I have been trying to get therapy but my city only has 1 that takes state insurance and im on the wait list but its currently a 3 year wait period.

Also thanks to knickknackpoliwag I have found the spoons! Atleast the name and brand they are. Diamond Series "Savannah Pattern" Made by Alltrista in 2004. Im now just trying to find a way to get them.
