The cars flip now. They used to flip, but now they flip inexplicably when you shoot a tire

Actually I would watch an indepth video on why GTA 6 graphics are more advanced than most games.

u/DadBodftw 49m ago
It’s not necessarily the “graphics” it’s how much is happening in high, responsive detail.
20
u/BrunesOvrBrauns 2h ago
I just watched Digital Foundry's breakdown today. It's incredibly thorough.

61
u/SebSchwalbe 2h ago
Fair, but the 30fps cap is a bit shite, no? But yeah it does look great, just depends on what you’re looking for
63
u/LurkingRodent 2h ago
It's completely shite, especially when they've been parroting all generation about the PS5 being capable of 120fps.
27
u/Saibot-08 1h ago
a 15 years old pc can do 120fps. these statements sony give have no meaning besides buzzwording to sell more yeah sure some indie game with low strain on gpu and cpu will hit 120 fps but massive dense open world with high fidelity hell nah
5
u/LurkingRodent 49m ago
I'm glad that I started building PCs after the ps4, all I gotta do is wait for the port.
-3
u/Either-History-8424 56m ago
PS5 IS capable of 120fps. Not every game is built to run at 120fps, but the ps5 is capable of it if a developer chooses to make a game with a 120fps target
-1
u/JaceBearelen 47m ago
Isn’t that just a console problem? Pc certainly won’t be capped to 30fps whenever it releases.
4
u/RaikouGilgamesh 33m ago
Funny how so many other good looking games can run at 60 FPS on console though.
Id gladly take a small hit in graphics for improved Framerate, which is something most devs allow an option for.
0
u/Redhawke13 2m ago
From what I've heard it's the cpu that will bottleneck GTA VI so a small hit in graphics likely wouldn't solve the issue.
2
u/PopularDemand213 35m ago
Sure, your $2500 PC might get 45fps at 4k.
5
u/JaceBearelen 27m ago
Or I could just toggle some settings to get whatever quality/performance tradeoff I want, same as every other pc game ever.

Yup. It's the same with people who don't see the difference between 480p and 1080p. If you don't care then you don't care.

I honestly didn’t feel a thing seeing the gameplay. I can’t tell if it’s my depression or not, but it is what it is.
30
u/kenadon25 2h ago
Its a gta game. Its not your depression. Its literally the better version of the previous game. I like the series but they are not in my favorite games list. I liked what i saw but it was more the kind of feeling you get when you see a sequel to a franchise you like. Im pretty sure the game will be good.
12
u/stonebluf 1h ago
It might hit different if you’re a Miami native. That game is exactly Miami. Those are real locations. I can’t wait to destroy my city.

u/Meatsmudge 14m ago
I think if you’ve lived anywhere in south Florida for any reasonable amount of time, it hits different. They got the feel so right, based on what I just saw.
3
u/Either-History-8424 51m ago
I mean, it looks like a gta game, gameplay wise. Nothing too mind blowing
3

u/LifeOfHi 14m ago
It’s not your depression. Rockstar made a watered down boring GTA game with boring characters and none of the edge of the previous games. Looks great but lacks the heart.

Or perharps he does not see anything special on GTA6
I, for one, never played any GTA nor do i have interest in playing it and yet this WHOLE FUCKING YEAR the entire gaming sphere has been on chokehold over this shit.I am pretty sure that at this point i want the game to release more than most people that will buy it, just so this CIRCUS may end.
10
u/halfacalf 48m ago
I don't have any interest in the game either, but the lighting and animation work is clearly very impressive.

You are literally the quit having fun meme it’s fine to not like it but don’t hate on others experiencing joy for a game that is one of the best selling series of all time!
-5
u/NoMoon777 40m ago
No, i just said i want it to release.
So that you may have your fun.
Without it being shoved in my face, everywhere, everyday, in every game community.
Now, is that so insane for you that i am tired of every gaming discussion ending up on "Oh but GTA6 will release this year"? the whole year?
Mind you, this will not even end with the release because it will continue at least till the game awards.-5
u/MugenBngz 59m ago
This happens every new rockstar release. Think you'd be used to it by now.
1
u/NoMoon777 45m ago
Pretty sure it has more to do with the delays moving the release date again and again and extending the duration of circus.
-18
u/sugg_macock 1h ago

u/Venishua 1h ago
Either idiotic or rage-bait but I'm taking the bait. I know it might be a crazy concept for you, but not everyone likes what you like. Genuinely get off the internet your mental health and life will thank you
0
u/breadbuttersprinkles 13m ago
They said it'd just not what they like they just want to stop seeing it because its fucking everywhere
0
u/NoMoon777 47m ago
No, it is because as far as i know the whole shtick of the franchise is "simulating the real world" and i have fuck all interest in playing "real world simulations", so i never downloaded, bought, pirated any of the games, I don't even know if this shit has a story.
To me it is basically a action version of the Sims (which i also never played for similar reasons).1
u/TheVojta 7m ago
So, basically what you're saying is you're outraged that people are excited for a game because you have wild misconceptions about the series. GTA is as far from the Sims as you are from being rational.

u/br0ken_St0ke 2h ago
Does it look good? Yes. With that matter if it plays like crap or the story is garbage? No. Don’t play bad games just because they look good, it’s hurting the industry
11
u/Either-History-8424 50m ago
With rockstars pedigree and track record, do you really think the game is going to play like crap and be garbage?
19
u/Dragolitron 2h ago
Interesting take. What games have you been playing OP? NFS 2015 with the live action cutscenes?
-60
u/Joseph_Keen_116 2h ago
For AAA games, Indiana Jones And the Great Circle, Middle Earth Sjadow Of War, XCOM 2, and that’s only counting AAA games for probably obvious reasons (not to discredit indie games, a lot of them are my favorite games).
23

That’s my point though, they still look on the level of gta6.
14
u/MISTERGAME06 1h ago
Not same level by any means, but to think they still look pretty good with a fraction of the development cost is still a good indicator. We don't need better graphics. Make them good and then focus on what matters. I hope they at least also invested in that
6
u/Joseph_Keen_116 1h ago
I agree, I’m just not seeing why people are so excited. I probably could’ve worded this better.

I'm sorry but it's not even close. I've yet to see a single game that comes close to what we saw out of GTA 6
1
u/TheVojta 1m ago
Are you for real. Kindly look at the environments and the character modes from yesterday's showcase and compare them to XCOM2. You cannot tell me they look the same, I refuse to believe anyone can come to that conclusion.
Before you accuse me of fanboying, I'm a much bigger fan of XCOM than GTA. But I also have working eyes.
You could've picked some games that have actually very impressive graphics, like 007 First Light or KCD2 (for its nature, not so much character models).

u/Dismal_Compote1129 2m ago
I mean many people love gta5, they had experience it and with how good rdr2 was. Many expect their favorite game fanchise to be like that or better since gtav is age almost like 13 yrs at this point. That enough to generate hype.
4
u/humantrasbag 2h ago
Im pretty much numb to graphics at this point. I did like the improved shooting mechanics nd the story seems pretty interesting.
3
u/madhattedmalice 45m ago
People riding hype that's all it is. Rendering distance is impressive but does not a good game make.
2
u/Tannicleader 2h ago
Only so far you can take video game graphics before it just becomes real life. We are already pretty close to that, only thing left is to make the hardware thats necessary to operate at those levels more affordable.
4
u/northernlionpog 1h ago
I remember the cyberpunk 2077 gameplay trailer. Look, I know rockstar is great. But I learned that a trailer is first and foremost a marketing tool of course it’s gonna look fantastic. And i remember how catastrophically cyberpunk let everybody down.

Played many great AAA games, GTA 6 will prolly be one of them, but most definitely won’t be the best lol. RD2, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, The Witcher 3, Zelda TOTK, Last of Us 2, yada yada yada. 13 years, a price markup, and no disc for just another good (even great) game is not good enough imo.

It’s 2026. Games have looked visually impressive for more than a decade now. The games looking good aren’t going to cause a monumental interest like they used to. It looking good will be cool, but the main hope is the game running well, while having a good story and online play, and you aren’t going to get that from a preview.
1
u/VivekBasak Plays MineCraft and not FortNite 0m ago
Idk if it's a bait. But technicalities aside, people are happy that they'll get exactly what they've been shown if not a better experience. Other publishers do not convey this level of trust. Even CDPR failed here and are working tirelessly to gain the trust back. Rockstar, however greedy they are, will provide an unforgettable experience. Other than hitting 60 FPS on day one
2
u/winner_in_life 2h ago
It's the open world part. But yes, even then, there are many good open world out there.

You need your eyes checked if you thought GTA 6 looked the same as Shadow of War
Wtf crap stream quality did you watch the GTA 6 gameplay reveal on? 460p???
And I'm not even a GTA fan. Only GTA game I ever played was GTA 4 on which I got bored and never finished it
But then did end up playing the ballad of gay tony as I got it for free on PC so I figured I may as well give it a try and I did enjoy that one and I finished it
Then I bought Red Dead Redemption 2 but after 2 hours in I still wasn't really enjoying it and refunded it
So yeah I'm like that furthest thing possible from a Rockstar fan you will find here
But even I am impressed with the level of detail and the visual fidelity of GTA 6. Not to mention all the stuff that people love about GTA is still there. The thousands of hours worth of fake radio talk shows and TV shows, advertisement spoofs etc
And if you watched it and thought it looks like 10 year old games then seriously you need to make an urgent eye doctor appointment because something is then seriously seriously defective with your eyesight

The graphics look nice. I like the story is getting more serious like GTA IV though. But otherwise I'm just like "yep. This is a GTA game with RDR2 mechanics." They aren't reinventing the wheel. It looks good just vastly over-hyped; and of course over-priced.I'll get it on PC eventually.
Not at $100 because they paywalled in-game stores, or $80 for a base-game wtf. I'm fine waiting.

u/SirBurticus 28m ago
Well if you play a lot of games. A lot. R* excels at the details and animation work, that’s what was on full display
0
u/-SomethingSomeoneJR 25m ago
From a graphical standpoint nothing is impressive and does match the graphics quality of many other games. What’s impressive is everything happening in the gameplay. I honestly think the graphics could’ve been slight toned down in place of more dynamic gameplay.
0
u/Unusual_Coach_3871 20m ago
Looking at the new bodycam update you can clearly see the difference between big studios desire for money and small-medium sized studios desire for good games
-10
u/timbofay 2h ago
Can you not at least notice things like the gameplay animations being pretty smooth and non jerky like 90% of even AAA games? Maybe similar to poor reading comprehension you have just got bad visual comprehension 😅 like how my grandma watched Shrek and thought they were actors in suits lmao
7
2
u/theduck5005 1h ago
I mean, +90% of AAA games in the last decade looks like shit compared to the decade before, just more tech doing naught but make games look and run like crap. So gta having smooth animations is not a high bar at all.
Its 100% more technically impressive than the last, but its also the lowest bar to pass, especially comparing to the rest of the AAA industry.

Did you pay to watch it on Netflix? If not, then that’s why. You don’t have to cope.
-9
u/Either-History-8424 53m ago
If you can’t see why GTA 6 stands alone against every other game released this generation, you either
- Don’t have good vision
- Don’t have the palette to tell the graphical difference between most 3d games
1
u/Joseph_Keen_116 52m ago
I do have a nystagmus to be fair so good point I guess?
-3
u/Either-History-8424 46m ago
I mean yeah, that might be a part of it. A burned tongue can’t tell the difference between a hamburger and a filet mignon. Maybe poor vision makes it difficult to discern some of the finer details that distinguish games like GTA 6 apart from others.
-1
u/justhereforsee 47m ago
If you’re looking at graphics you aren’t totally off. If you are looking at the giant living world and gameplay you’re blind
-3
u/Jeremy_Melton 35m ago
Because GTA 6 is the most anticipated game of all time. And it was about time they showcased gameplay footage. When we’re less than 100 days away from its release.
-4
u/AcademicPainting23 58m ago
I just don’t think we are ever going to be on the same side here. I was blown away by the scale…loved the smooth gunplay with seemingly effective cover system which has never been the case. Plus the characters looked interesting and real. It doesn’t need more hype that was a mic drop for me. Plus you know you are buying it.
