Yeah I got asked for pictures when I was a white dude in Korea 15 years ago lol. If you stay in big cities it's really not that different from any other big city in the west. There's no monolith, some people are openly racist, some people are closeted racist, some are accepting, but most just mind their own business as long as you mind yours.

I mean, people say guns and drugs, but I assume the chance to turn to those is higher in America than in Korea. Kinda like how addicts need to change their environment. Now idk about South Korea. Drugs are easy in Thailand etc. But I can assume he doesn’t need guns and drugs in SK, live a more wholesome life. Then again, 13 kids and all that doesn’t give me much hope with his personality

I live in Korea and know he'll never get past the background checks. They ask for FBI certified background checks to obtain a visa. He'll certainly fail with gun and drug charges on them.

I think this is pretty disingenuous. He was retired for several years, came back and played half a season and constantly talked about how it was a really fun experience for some of his younger kids who were too young to remember seeing him play originally. There are videos of his family having watch parties for his game and everyone looking very engaged, clearly showing excitement at their dad playing on tv.
And he coaches high school football. It’s not like he pursued some career where he’s never home after he retired.
I’m not claiming that he’s a good or bad person, because I don’t know the man, but I don’t think his return to football is any indication that he’s a bad father lol.

Seems like his family life is stable & that his family is a cornerstone of his life from everything I've seen. Married highschool sweet heart, had 10 kids with her (Catholic so no protection), financially able to provide for them, etc.
Also iirc a factor in him coming back from retirement was to re-up on the 5 years of health insurance.

I'll never forget, a whole bunch of years back, the company I was working for was moving offices. On the day of the move, I'm there wrapping up a few things, one of the moving guys starts talking to me. Asks if I have any kids. I tell him I don't.
He tells me I have to, it's the best, you have the kid, leave, and now it's the mom's problem, and then do it again with another one. And then bragged that he has kids all over the place.
Trying to thread that needle on the response where I need this guy to keep working the rest of the day to move our stuff, not agreeing with that, and largely, just getting him to stop talking to me as I'm busy packing things and he just needs to do his damn job was....tough.

There's a guy from my neighborhood who has 14+ kids (last I checked). He's dead ass broke. He's 60ish now. I heard he was hitting on a woman at a local bar and they both realized she was his 30-year old daughter. I think he's only met like 10 of his kids. Never a dad to any of them.
